So how are you handling the tunic, Chase? Is it folded over?

Ummm....I folded those long flappy things in half, like closing a book. Then draped it over his shoulders. The two flap things are still really wide over the shoulders, so I folded/tucked the excess wideness under itself, over the shoulder armor. Then put the belt on and futz.

I don't think that makes any sense though :(

Jeez, I go to lunch and look what happens.

GREAT pics, King. :clap:clap:clap

As much as I miss the silk lining edge of the old cape, there is no comparison in the way the cape hangs. No longer dragging on the ground, billwoing all over the place, always popping out when you move him.... and the tunic is now at boot-toe height as it should be.

Looks great. You even get to see the chain a bit which I could never get on the SS one.

I have no idea how you got the chain showing! I'll have to play with that some more on mine, nice job and great pix!

Found this picture helpful for many reasons...

Also found this in regards to the open sides of the inner robe on 501st site...

Inner Robe
For 501st approval:

*The inner robe is made of the same material as the outside of the cape.
*It is ankle length, and worn over the chest armor and codpiece, but under the belt, and the front sides are almost touching or no more than an inch away from the chestbox.
*The side seams are open from the belt down.
*There are no pleats/darts on the sides of the inner robe.

Thanks WG. And youbastards.

Its so fa king much of an improvement! Its funny, but the cape make it look like a different figure. That Sideshow one really was an abomination. So satisfied right now. The drape is so natural and elegant, it something to see in hand. Tunic can use some further futzing, but right now I just wanna sit back and admire Vader.

Thanks again Lance.

My quest for my perfect Vader is finally at an end. :)

No, it makes perfect sense... At least to me. :lol I still need to press mine and really spend some time futzing. Hoping to get to it tonight. :lecture

Yours looks great, BTW. :clap

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing that you understood that, Buttflossi :lol

One last before and after shot.

bravo king.........looks fantastic.........:clap

doing mine tonight as well. all of it, bod mod, cape, tunic, futzing,.........:yess:

Thnx B!

Sounds like you have a fun night ahead of you :yess:

Be sure to whore it up with lots of pix :rock

Vader is all apart. wrist and boot pegs removed. still thinking about cutting the boots above the ankle just bellow the strap.

will someone talk me out of that please......:)

DO IT! I'm always interested in seeing someone potentially destroy parts of a figure it would be near impossible to replace.

Be sure to take lots of pictures. :)

dammit, chain broke and I barely touched it.........:gah:

seems like there is excess fabric at the shoulders that has to be rolled under on the tunic. definitely going to give the iron a try to see if that helps. anyway with all I''ve done tonight I'm putting this on hold til tomorrow.

we shall endevor to persevere..........:lecture

Why do so many of the new pictures have a 'navy' tint to the color? In hand it looks jet black. Is it the mateial texture catching the light? Odd.

Oh, and Flosi, I missed your earlier question but I got my set yesterday.

I've wondered this too, it looks navy in so many pics, it must only be the camera flash right?
