Glass cases are very fragile. I've had 2 and both of them smashed with very minimal touching/moving. I would never buy a glass case again.

Depends on the glass and who manufactured/designed the case. I have been buying tempered glass custom cases over the years and only had one break when it was dropped about 5 feet off the ground. Tempered is the way to go.

Yeah, tempered is your best friend. Probably a little more expensive than plate glass but definitely sturdier and safer.

If I were buying glass cases, 1/4"-3/8" thick tempered would be the minimum standards.

in a bit of dilemma, my tumbler came with a broken handle on one side and a broken windshield wiper, seller has offered 75$ discount or a new one free of cost (including shipping), problem is Im worried it would arrive maybe even worse next time,
i suggested a 160$ refund( amount i paid for shipping alone) and keep the item fixing it myself, the handle is not a problem, the wiper has left scratch marks over the window and also its impossible to glue it back perfectly in place because the surface area of the break is small and irregular.
Also the 45 day paypal protection period is nearly up and sellers says to ship it back and then he will refund me the shipping cost and send a new one free of any charge,
should i trust him,as Im leaving myself vulnerable to fraud once the paypal protection period is over, i have other pre orders with him as well for which i have paid small deposits

You could open a dispute with PayPal. That way you can log all the messages from the seller. If it all works out you can just close the dispute. Been a while since I've used the dispute function, but I'm pretty sure you'd still be covered while the dispute was active.

The guy has offered a full refund and a replacement.
You have had faith enough to give him other deposits, so he won't want to lose you as a customer.
Have a little faith in him now.
Take the refund and replacement.

problem is I have another 250-300 with in deposit for pre orders paid long back,.. and also he is a pretty much reputed seller

Have a little faith in him now.

i would have loved to take the offer for replacement.with no shipping charges on me instead of 75$ refund as another option
my worry is if it comes damaged again,
I asked for 160$ refund and fix it myself which was refused , i would settle for around 125$ too

Check California laws. If the seller is I'm California with PayPal. I cannot tell you. I hope you understand. If not check your laws and California.

In short you are not taking about a $100 item.

This has happened to me. Both seller and pp was in California. I got a refund and they return shipping. It was not for this kind of time. Just last month. It was a cable.

I totally understand, but the seller is standing up and going to take care of you.
He's giving you what you wanted in the first place. A replacement that is 100%.
To be fair, the one you are sending back will have to be destroyed, but he will get full value refund for it, so no one loses.
Is the guy in the US? Or further afield?

Just got this beast today. So far it looks good. I didn't have time to fully remove it from the packaging but the quick once over was positive. The drivers seat wasn't attached but I assume that is normal? Anyway the bottom line is this thing is incredible and as many great pics as people have posted, it needs to be seen first hand to be believed. It's massive!

If it has a defined place to be, use epoxy to hold it in place.

I got my broken batmobile from sideshow from retailer and the retailer is piss cause he said he loose money to sent it back , so he did it and stop doing business with me , I thought retailer never have to pay sideshow if package is damage? I will never buy stuff from him since all my po(8 statue) got refund from him!!
Don't buy from ebay retailer!!!!!

I think HT sometimes don't use enough glue... mine came with the console loose... but a little epoxy and it's done

Hey buddy!

So far at the size fit for the tumbler I was quoted a little higher than PhP2000 for a simple aquarium-type. But I'm expecting it to go a bit hgher since I plan to give it a mirror back panel. Haven't gone back for the re-quote as I'm very busy lately.

Still more affordable than the PhP8000+ I was offered for an acrylic case
