Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

So what's the QC issue rundown on this guy so far? I always like to have the complete list when I pick mine up from CSC, so I can inspect mine for all potential offenses before I leave.

It may just be mine. On the suit, the spacing between so-called armor plate that stick on the fabric is not consistent when compared the left side and right side of the body. Slightly noticeable. Also have Armor plate not fully stick on the suit. I got 2. Dented gun handle. Glue stain on shoulder pad.

A friend of mine has his dx12 base dented inwards at one corner. Worst part for him is the left leg is noticeable longer than right. I didn't see that though. Anyway he got a 1-to-1 exchange.

I will update if I find out more. Need to inspect again.

I don't recall reading about QC issues with this figure. Mainly just people griping about inaccuracies.

Ahh gotcha, that's why I'm asking at this point, left the thread for a while. :lol

Are you picking up at Cornerstore Comics?? Any word when they're getting them?

Yeah I am. Last I heard they would be getting their first shipment of these in early November, but it wont be enough to satisfy all orders, so they'll most likely be sent out in order of first PO. The rest of the shipments will be sporadic throughout November.

Awesome, thanks for the info. :duff

The cowls that the face plates sit in to be stored, are they half cowls kind of like the one that is on the TDKR poster that is shattered on the ground? Can they be removed from the box?

No they're just plastic trays in the mold or shape of a cowl. They can be removed but are really of no use

...sigh.. I know this is a dangerous thing to post, I guess I never learn. But I thought I'd better warn anyone who is thinking about picking up extra DX12 boots (as ugly as they are) to replace boots on older Batman figures. I bought some extra DX boots and put them on my DX02. Repeat THIS IS NOT THE DX12. It's the DX02 with DX12 boots on. This is after just a week, **** it. So careful guys. What the hell did they make this figure from, acid? It's very strange, it has formed at the top of both boots on the outside, perfectly dry inside. But the plastic is softening already.

Maybe it is a chemical reaction with the oil they used on the DX02.
I doubt it is coming from the DX12. If it isn't doing this while the boots were on the DX12 then I would have to imagine it is coming from the DX02. Sometimes plastics and rubbers have chemical reactions due to certain chemicals that are used in the forming and hardening process. That's all I can think of

Still no shipping notices... hope we get the notice today. SS holding our money for 192 hours is not cool.

A strange figure that DX02 is. Have you tried DX12 boots on the TF 2011 Batman? I don't think it would have the same problem, but who knows.

Hey, Rory, probably a stupid advice, but why don't you try putting some scotch tape around the calf before slipping the boots on? Might help prevent the chemical reaction and remain invisible...

Will the same thing happen if you do it vice-versa?

DX02 boots on the DX12 figure?

I figure it would be the DX12 suit that will have the problem.

Re: HOT TOYS : MMS DX 12 - The Dark Knight Rises - BATMAN / BRUCE WAYNE Full Specs &

So even after taking the DX12 boots off the DX02, washing them they are still melting! ****ing crazy ****. Damn just when I thought the DX02 couldn't cause anymore problems! More money down the tubes!:lol

That DX02 was designed like a sponge to hold that oil in to preserve the rubber I guess. That's the only logic I can think of. That pressure on the leg that goes into the boots must have released some of the oil and got absorbed into the DX12 boots. Maybe try applying some pressure as you wash them to try and push out that oil, but if they were damaged due to a chemical reaction, I doubt the damage can be reversed. Try cleaning them with a dish soap with dsgreaser or something that cuts through grease/oil. Apply pressure on the area of the boot as you rub the area that was affected.

I've got DX02 boots on a DX12 and no issues.

I checked just a couple hours ago after reading Rory's post.
