Yeah that's funny. I just read on the site the Catwoman guy wishes he would have sold his more valuable stuff on eBay or individually as he got low prices selling a bunch of them as a lot to a dealer. And since he was struggling financially not getting top dollar for his stuff probably didn't help.

I thought the guy made a hell of a deal. That shop owner might be stuck with that crap for years. Oh well... still neat to see the stuff even if its all fake.

I don't understand why people even collect modern comics, they're worthless. Read 'em and give 'em to a kid or something.

That's the exact same mentality people had during the golden and silver age. Hence why those comics are rarely found in mint condition. :lol

Exactly why modern comics, or any other "collectibles" will never be worth anything. Everybody hangs onto everything nowadays hoping it will be another Action Comics #1 in 50 years. It won't, so stop hoarding. Leave that to the obsessive basement dwellers.

really depends. The Walking Dead #1 goes for close to $1000 and its not that old.

I got a few modern books that are worth $25-50-100+

But the vast majority aren't worth much. Its usually a variant or some kind of indie comic that didn't have a large print run that tends to go up in value.

That's b/c they didn't print that many walking deads

Elyse is really pretty, seriously she is one of the reasons i keep watching, yeah I want to see what collections show up and how they sell,
but it really helps to have such a beautiful host for the show, she has a nice smile, I like her

I am reading the "Where are they Now" interviews, and, surprise surprise, the wife of the Catwoman guy doesn't do one, LOL, I can't say I Was surprised, I really did not like her, they were not a good match, I don't even know why they got married,

I have to say that from the 3 episodes aired, I liked these guys the Least,

I really hated the comic guy, I did not like his attitude at all, of course I don't know him, I am just saying I hated him on the show, he came off as a huge ******, I didn't like his attitude, he totally rubbed me the wrong way, I hated watching him, I felt bad for his wife,

I was reading the "Where are they Now" interview with him, and, his wife did not do an interview, which, again, didn't surprise me, I don't see how they can be together for long when he absolutely did not sell anything at all

the Transformers guy was nicer, but he was such a geek, I know I know that is not saying A LOT in this place, I know we are all nerds and we all collect,
but at 38 and having his parents pay his rent? how old are his parents? wtf? It really made me wonder if they guy had a job or not, or he just "sold" the toys,

I didn't hate him, he seemed nice, he just reminded me of the nerdy kids that would play YUGIOH for hours and hours in the cafeteria at my high school, the ones that were part of the Science club, even his clothes reminded me of those kids, the ones that spent countless hours playing cards and watching anime on the school's computers, funny enough I found a group like that in College as well, I guess some of us really never grow up,

How is he a ******? Elyse dropped the ball there and though she said she did, clearly didn't understand him or his comic collecting. I :lol'd when she took him to Frank and Sons. I would've had the same reaction as he did as I've seen idiots at the cons destroying comics while searching through boxes. Not blaming her though as the show doesn't give her enough time to research that kinda stuff.

So much is staged and edited, i have a hard time believing most of it anyway. The easiest solution for Comic Book guy would be to just rent a climate controlled storage unit. A smaller unit could fit all the books and then get some insurance on the unit. Gets the books are out of the house and that will make his wife very happy and he keeps maybe a few boxes at home of his favorites. Problem solved. It wasn't a financial issue it seemed about his collection. So to me his collection was very manageable.

That's exactly what I did. Only cost me $70 a month. :huh

But he said the safest place for his comics is with him so I'm sure this idea was brought up already. The reality is he has no consideration for anyone else but himself. I started selling off chunks of my comic collection a few years ago (I just do it in chunks) and I'm only keeping the important ones because it was infringing on my girlfriend. I totally understand that when you live with someone else that you have to consider them as well. This guy does not.

Comic boxes make great furniture. :dunno

what Shatterer said, that's why he came off as a ******,
and, it was just his attitude through the whole thing, he did not seem like a nice guy, didn't seem like he cared about the wife that much, he just seemed not very nice, kind of has an aggressive personality

You wouldn't act like a ****** if some total stranger came into your home looked at your collectibles and incorrectly assumed she knew better than you about what to do with your stuff? I wouldn't say he didn't care about his wife, but moreso, was in overprotective mode. Setting up a booth for him at Frank and Sons pretty much showed Elyse didn't get it. She would've been better off spending that money on an environmentally controlled storage locker and showing him how easy it is to enter and access/check on your stuff.

no I agree that she didn't know, I agree that he had to protect his comics,

I am starting to realize this show is completely pointless, more than I thought before,

if you read the where are they now, nobody has really changed, they didn't stop collecting,
and now knowing the comic nerd's trade was scripted, this show sucks,

I think the whole aspect of getting collector's to change their habits and have them sell stuff is gimmicky. I only like to watch to see what people have in their collection... And to laugh at them.

I was surprised the comic book guy didn't own, or want to own, a single Golden or Silver Age book.
