Thats not right though. Your out of pocket now and without a piece. Sorry to hear that mate. Its a shame because the piece without the flaws is unbelievable and standing back its one of thos pieces you just cant stop looking at. Keep me posted how sideshow handle it for you mate. I to will be seeing what can be done. I want to keep him but i will be wanting a big discount for the trouble and the fact of the things i have to fix :slap

It really is a shame. This is a very nice bust and I'd hate to part with it. I'm also very disappointed that Sideshow did not re-package the box better. The inside packing is terrible.....very messy. Looks like the work of a 6 year old.

Hi guys
Here's mine , from here it's perfect but I can assure that there are a lot of small problems ... I decide to keep it cause I love Robocop , but I'm sad if I think to the insane price for importing from US directly from Fred :(
By the way it remain a great piece , unfortunately is far from the perfection

from a distance yours looks pretty good. But from a distance NYC looks tiny.

Been waiting for this since November. Finally arrived yesterday. There was one small problem though......the friggin' head fell off!! :gah:

I will be sending this back to Sideshow. Don't think I want another piece back.

I'm really sorry to hear about ur bust. SEND THAT ____ BACK.

You ordered from SS right?

The piece really is reall, reallyy nice BUT if there are major flaws it ruins the joy of ownership...and at that point it's not worth keeping. my advice to you is if you are unhappy with the flaws, SEND IT BACK.

I can't believe SS did not make it's famous form-fitting styrofoam for this piece. very suprising. When i ordered mine pretty close to the inception of this thread, i was worried i was gonna miss out on the Sideshow fitted protective styrofoam. SHOCKED SS shipped them with the DIY pack-job.

That's what I was expecting from Sideshow too! I was really surprised when I opened the box and saw the disaster. It appears that Sideshow didn't even make an attempt to inspect the contents inside the box after they received it from Fred. Not cool at all.

i thought Sideshow would put a little more effort with this piece...especially since it was close to a grand :dunno

Sideshow made no effort with this one. I thought they would know better, considering all the problems with the bust.

I was charged $120 on custom taxes for this bust. Does anyone know if Sideshow will reimburse this to me as well when I return the bust?

Same thing happened to me! The neck area is so thin, I'm surprised it didn't snap off when they were packing it.

I'll post some pictures later...

BTW, using broken up pieces of styrofoam and a crap-load of paper is NO way to pack a bust like this!

Well, it's going back, even though there is very little hope of a replacement.

Tell me about it. I still can't get over the poor/effortless packing job. Did you just receive yours as well?

This is horrible. How can the majority of these busts arrive decapitated?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Who was incharge of shipping these things, the Kurgan?

Just got mine about an hour ago. Just like everybody in this thread has been saying: flaws a-plenty. If you go inspecting it (the one I own), you'll find things wrong with it. Even with the issues, it's still the best Robocop collectible.

Sorry for the guys who got the really bad pieces (head falling off, etc). Nothing on mine (paint chips, some visible glue) was a deal breaker to me. I figured that's how it would come, and I only notice the flaws if I'm right next to it inspecting it.

Those taxes will not be refunded by Sideshow. Sorry.

Thanks. That would be absurd on Sideshow's part. So if they end up sending me another piece, am I going to get charged $120 on custom fees again?

Doh. Custom is being charged by your country. They don't care who, or how many times you've had items sent to you, or if you returned them or not.

I know that.

Certain online stores would lower declared value of a package for their international customers, to avoid these fees. I know Sideshow is not one of them. But in this case, they should conpensate.

I just saw Armored_Berserk's package pics on SF and i must say that is totally unacceptable. When i received mine (#24) from Fred almost a year ago it was packed with layers and layers of bubble wrap/clingwrap and packing peanuts so there was little to no movement during the shipment. Armored_Berserk pics show only one box, when mine arrived directly from Fred, the Box with the ROBOCOP - MGM - FRED BARTON sticker(s) was shipped inside a larger box that was padded with blocks of styro that securely held the bust's box in place.

The packing was worse than sub standard...that pack-job looks similar to my $165.00 NECA 1:1 Gremlin that is a foam filled latex piece!!!! Certaintly no way to pack a $1,000 high end museum quality collectible. also is seems Sideshow skimped on the shipper box that would have driven the shiping costs up due to it's larger shipping dimensions.

What a debacle :slap:gah::mad:

When Sideshow and stupid FedEx damaged my SS Vader, the replacement was sent with value 0, thus no tax. But if you ask for refund then no money from taxes from SS. That is one reason I rarely order directly from Sideshow, no matter how "good" customer service they have.

Also taking account that this is an (extremely) rotocasted piece that is 1 mm thick at the neck. So I think it wont be uncommon seeing some beheaded robos these days...

Thanks for the info...appreciate it. At least now I know I won't be charged custom fees again if I were to get a replacement.

If that is the case - It wont hurt to call their CS and make sure they do that... You know how things tend to get 'dropped', Murphy's Law and all.
