Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

Maybe I'm just not that into 1:4 scale stuff, but I'm not remotely moved by this.

Sure, it looks good and comes with a good deal of stuff, but I feel like HT might be competing with itself. The 1:6 scale is so popular, while the 1:4 scale (to me) has been more about statues. A 1:6 Batman for $200+ or a 1:4 Batman for (probably) 350+. Is it really worth it? Starting a new line of a solid license like Batman is a good idea, but then why do I feel like if I get into this I'm just double-dipping?

Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

This is absolutely overwhelming. I've never felt like I NEEDED a figure before. Those masks sold me.

& figures that the figure that I feel like I need is a 1/4th scale - probably one of the more expensive figures they'll release. What a typical girl. :lol

Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

This is stunning. I can't believe I'm being converted to 1:4 scale collecting. I don't think my heart could take it if they announced anything from Batman 89.

Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

e-mail it to 'em. :lecture

If I had a 3D model of it I would happily do that

Honestly it takes about $300-400 to buy an accurate cowl (from studio moulds), they could easily buy one and scan it down

So It's shocking HT can't get the cowl right

Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

How are all of these official reveals going up? We've had the Mark VII, this, and the Endo-Skeleton all in one day. Maybe even Catwoman later tonight. They've gotta space these out, right?

Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

Other 1/4 figure I will get is Bane that's it.

I'm not getting 1/4, but I must say, THIS looks way better than EB. Especially the Bale sculpt. And I though EB's was great.

Re: Hot Toys TDKR: 1/4th scale Batman - Full Reveal

I'm not seeing a night and day difference between this and their DX12 figure in terms of detail and realism. Either that's a testament to just how good the DX12 is, or Hot Toys 1:4 figure isn't really taking advantage of the added detail and complexity the scale should offer.

It's a bit of both really

I don't expect 1/4 to offer too much extra detail sculpt-wise. Maybe in paint apps, but even there they've proven perfectly capable in 1/6. I think they're just too good.

It's really the size and minor texturing that this scale brings to the table. Their smaller figures already have PF quality, so the only thing left to do is to enlarge them. :dunno
