YEEES!! A 1/6 Baroness!! Been waiting for this forever. The figure is looking great so far. Glad they went with sculpted hair. Not to sure about the "wind blowing' effect just yet but, I'll wait for the full reveal to pass judgment.

EX is a MUST on this one!! Can't wait till she goes up for Preorder! :yess:

It was rude to jump to some female doll/gay assumption. So what if the person you were being rude doesn't respond, not everyone likes being targeted. Personally I'm glad people came to his defense rather than sit idly by. Just because someone doesn't become ultra defensive doesn't make you targeting them with your psycho babble implication any more tasteful. You took it beyond discussion of the toy and into personal territory, yet complain about others doing this. :nono

Um, he did respond to me directly and unlike you all did not flip out about it.

You may find it "rude" but homophobic freaks outs about anything that might be seen as feminine are sadly common and expressed openly on this board at times.

Please I would love to see even one person to explain how this partial reveal is so awful that it makes it an "easy pass" on a major character.

And I find the personal attacks enjoyable by and large. If I intended to "complain" I would go whine to a mod about them, not respond in kind.

Maybe it isn't that it's an awful figure. Maybe he just doesn't like the Baroness character so it's an easy pass for him personally.

Star its time to move on please. :)

Take note Nam, now THAT is what hypocrisy looks like.

Singling me out, but ignoring the people who respond to me. Only one person had cause to respond to me, onethousandmasks. The rest are just looking for a fight or fanning the flames, esppecially people like Niltusk and Nam who leave multiple posts. Now I have no problem with them responding, but telling me that I alone have to "move on" is cowardly BS.

The problem exists, and it's a shame. I wish companies would make more female figures, and that some (like Hasbro) would put more effort into them.

I can't wait to get Baroness, and I hope Scarlett isn't far behind. Sideshow is really a roll with releases lately.

Maybe it isn't that it's an awful figure. Maybe he just doesn't like the Baroness character so it's an easy pass for him personally.

And it is just pure coincidence that the character he happens to not like is the only female one released to date?

You know your Leia banner reminds me that when the Star Wars sigs went up Amidala and Leia were originally no where to be found. Do you really need explained how that is problem? If a person claims to be a Star Wars fan and Leia does not even make their top dozen characters, tell they is not sexism.

This hobby like comicbooks has problem with the depiction of women. The anger directed at me for raising the issue, in a relevant thread on Sideshow's first 1:6 female character in years, is pretty sick.

I didn't question someones masculinity or whether they are a sexist homophobe because of them saying "pass" on a figure. Something which likely should get you well over infracted. There would be no flames to fan if you didn't start flaming someone. Instead, you buck a friendly "move on". Food for thought. :lecture

Where exactly in this thread did anyone have any "homophobic freak outs"?

Meh, easy pass. :monkey1

This post doesn't sound "homophobic" to me at all. It sounds like exactly what he stated. He thought it was an "easy pass".

Anyways, who really cares why anybody wants to buy or not buy something? :dunno

Also, you may "find the personal attacks enjoyable by and large" but, I'm pretty sure most members here don't. So personally attacking and/or questioning someones masculinity on this board is uncalled for and rude. We're supposed to be having discussions about toys here, NOT psycho~babble about homophobes or the correct definition of what "hypocrisy" is. :cuckoo:

What a way to drop a deuce on an otherwise awesome reveal thread. :thwak

Maybe it is a coincidence. I don't know. People are free to like or dislike whatever character they want whether they be male or female. I wouldn't think someone who doesn't have Princess Leia in their top 12 list of Star Wars characters is sexist. I'd just think they're not a fan of Leia. It happens.

With respect to you and the mods, I'll drop this here after this post. The thread should be focused on the discussion of the figure at hand. Maybe you can start a thread about the issues you're concerned about in the comic and action figure industries in the off topic/sandbox section so it can possibly be discussed civilly.

Try reading comprehension. I said "this board" not "this thread".

Anyways, who really cares why anybody wants to buy or not buy something? :dunno

Not you perhaps, but most of the people who jumped on me routinely chide others about passing on figures. That is nam and King Darkness' entire purpose in many threads.

And if sexist attitudes or homophobia are behind passing on the first and only female Joe, then that is a problem. And I intend to address it whether it upsets people or not.

I love how thin-skinned and immature some of you get when a serious or uncomfortable topic arrises.

Who cares why someone else is buying or passing on a figure? No need to derail a thread about someone else's collecting preferences that have no bearing whatsoever on your own. Let's get back on track here.

Wait, so you are clearly a G.I. Joe based on your signature and avatar, but do not want one of the main three villains? WTF? Is this one of those female figure = doll = gay panic things? I could see passing if the figure had flaws, but you say "easy pass" before it is even revealed. Makes me wonder...

And it is just pure coincidence that the character he happens to not like is the only female one released to date?

You didn't "raise a point", you pointed a finger. Big difference. :nono

What is funny is that 1KMasks was kidding, he will be getting this figure like the rest of us.

Ok, so if that is true, why did it take you so long to make that claim? And why is it you doing it and not the person in question?

I seriously doubt you, the cleverest of the lot, would miss such an opportunity to show up my premise from the start instead of going to the Joe Paterno thing (which was funny nonetheless).

And if it came from onethousandmasks, he would have got an apology from me. I mean that.

But instead most people raged about my "psychoanalysis" and "soapbox". Not very conducive to shutting me down.

Edit: I am done with this. I just want to see the reveal and hopefully like the full figure.
