every armored sideshow figure i own has been tweaked to some degree.........sandtroopers (not desert sands) have had body swaps & repaints, stormtroopers were futured and helmet mics/breather touched up, darth vader helmet lowered, helmet swapped (i go back & forth..:lol) and the body lowered.

almost everything they release could use some touch ups here and there.

hell i'll take fixing a vest & braids any day if that's all boba needs.......... :lecture

:lecture:lecture:lecture I expect to make changes, everytime... I think HT has spoiled everyone with the fantastic work they do. Mods are fewer and far between with them, but it still happens from time to time. Fixing Boba Fett will be no problem at all.

This was an atypical case. There was a big rush to get Boba ready for SDCC, so final development was still underway. I painted the Boba you've seen in time for the show, but the second helmets were what went to China. Get this: the little triangles on his forehead were actually missing on the second helmet when I painted it, so I painted them on to look like they were there in 3D, but in these pics they are totally flat.

Thanks for sharing these pictures. And you're right, the triangles on the second helmet absolutely look molded in.

:slap Maybe the painter should be in charge of production.

I don't know, you obviously understand the inner workings better than most. But, it seems they'd have a QC guy going from phase to phase making sure the small details stay good.

What about the yellow stripes on the side of the helmet, Nathan? Any reason those were not painted in?

Unbelievable -- that's the same figure from the in-hand badvermin pictures! Same braids -- AND SAME UNEVEN CHEST ARMOR MISALIGNED WITH THE COLLAR ARMOR!

I think those release pics were from the guy who takes their site pics. Maybe he snapped a few for his friends in his kitchen.

So other than the misaligned armor and wookie braids, the rest of the figure looks pretty good.

Love the work.... but all I retained from your post was RUSHED!

Glad i cancelled the EX in time,
prod fig is just not really worth $190

Im hoping later in-hand pics would show how great this fig is
i dont want SSC to screw up on the ESB Vader :gah:

What are you trying to show me? I know you're being "smart" again. But the chest armor in your still IS aligned to the collar armor and helps proves my point. I can't imagine that's what you were after, Nam.

It isn't misaligned in the new photos from SSC. At least not to me.

For as much as these goddamn things cost us now we shouldn't have to keep spending hundreds more in mods, body swaps, repaints and upgrades to make it "right."

Is that what he meant?

I can't tell in this pic if that's silver weathering but the armor looks off here to me... unless that's a weathered chip on the right corner.

Actually seeing how much you can "move " the chest armor around compared with the first shots that we got, makes me feel alot better.

I can do this all day. :lol

I know you can, but I'm not talking about movie stills so posting more doesn't prove anything other than you know how to post pictures, which is a worthy skill for you.

See my earlier post regarding your comment, I think we're talking about two different things. See the prod pic I posted -- the corner looks misaligned JUST like those early release pics. Now that I look again it might be weathering, but I still can't tell on my monitor. The other prod pics of the doll do look aligned though, yes.

Yeah, I don't think the alignment has been an issue since like 11am today... but old Nam had to repost an aging complaint and now there's confusion and misery in this thread.
