For those who do not have the dx02, like me, the version 2.0 is underway, and will be shown at Comic Com. This version obviously focus on the aspect Rises. And besides, are making a Batman Dark Night, scale 1/4 head of Christian Bale, and once with the mask. This is to compete with Enterbay

Why a Batman Begins DX? I hope not, I don't want a pers panel on the back of the head of Batman, it looks a bit ugly from certain angles like the 89 Batman. They can still improve the 2011 Toy Fair version without making a DX version. I think the Christian Bale head sculpt can be done better, still don't understand what happened to the 2011 proto Bruce Wayne head sculp, it was nearly perfect.
What are the differences between the proto and the production on the 2011 Bruce Wayne sculpt?

The production one had a broken ankle and some pinched area on the abdomen
The head sculpt as mentioned earlier.
I can see some differences on the forehead, looks wider on the proto, something in the nose too... overall they look like differents sculpts to me.

They were also not shot by the same person, camera, or perspective... or lighting... or space.

That Toyfairs Exclusive Bale head is also off. They made him too "perfectly" shaped all around.
Well the first and second pictures I posted above weren't taked by the same person, camera or perspective, but they look like the same sculpt to me
.. I don't get that feeling when comparing pictures from the final product and the proto. As someone said, overall the final product looks like an eagle..They can add a few more detalails, but I can see a lot of Batman Begins' Bale on the proto pictures.
This is the reason the custom looks more like Bale. His jaw is crooked. He has a vein that bulges under his eye. He has a big old mole. The Hot Toys head got rid of all of that.
For better or worse, it's known that Hot Toys 'idealizes' their head-sculpts.
Yeah, Bale is just an ugly mother____er. He also looks a bit sickly most of the time. HT's sculpt didn't really capture that effectively. Having said that, the prototype and production pieces of the fair figure from last year look the same to me. Any changes are extremely minor and would probably be the result of issues with casting more than any conscious attempt to tweak the sculpt.

Bale hasn't looked the same same The Machinist. I think that movie took a toll.
Christ, he's not that bad. My wife thinks he's good looking. Yeah, I think the proto is damn close to what we got. I don't see any massive difference that others see. The paint is the biggest difference I think. Plus the proto pics have all that great lighting that adds a lot to the sculpt. I think that piece looks best in low lighting anyway. I've seen some pics of it under harsh lighting that make it look not so great.

He used to be a fairly handsome guy, but he's not aging very gracefully. I don't know if it's all of the bad press and what we know about his personality, but maybe that's why he's looking less attractive in people's eyes.

Hot Toys has to get its figures approved by each actor, and I doubt Bale would approve too fugly of a figure. Either way, I think the likeness is pretty great, personally.
