People have blased HT for emotionless looking forward sculpts. Now they give one with emotion and people hate it.

That is Sideshow/Hot Toys Freaks in a nutshell.

i love this figure its a must for me. cant waite. and im really digging the figure u can pose the shield really high! good for poseing and animation. awsome!

Man that Cap looks good but $215!!! Sheesh, thats a little high. Shaking in my Jordans thinking about what they are gonna charge for the last four. Good thing Im only getting BW and Hulk and Ironman if he impresses me more than my MkIV.

Well i'm hardly gonna praise them if I think the attempt at emotion has failed. When someone makes a face like the one they've sculpted, all of the facial features change somewhat, following the emotion. In this case, it seems the sculptor took a slightly stern expression and just modified the mouth alone.

My point is perfectly illustrated by 'The Boot's' photoshop. If you close the mouth, it looks perfectly natural. It shouldn't. The jaw has to move, the area around the nose has to move, the eyes should be more squinted... it just looks unnatural for all those reasons.

But hey, the likeness is awesome. If I was a Marvel collector, i'd still be pretty happy with the package.

very nice figure indeed...but hard to believe that this will cost me more than my DX Keaton Bats if I do decide to get him from SS Direct...nevertheless, they definitely captured evans' look better with this Cap than the TFA version.

I think it's more price then anything else. The new Cap is $60 more then the first one which was just released a few months ago.

The first one was $169.99...this one is $214.99...that's a $45 difference.

This one comes with two heads and two shields. The first one didnt.

I am so glad I waited for this version rather then getting the FA version. Hopefully they can get the A straight on this version!

If $45 is too much for a second head and a second shield, what does everyone feel is a fair price for a head sculpt and and an electroplated shield?

Yeah, $215 for a non-DX figure :slap They haven't even sold through on the first version of Cap, and they want more than $45 more for this new one? Go figure.

You say second head and second shield like HT is beyond generous.

1. The unmasked head is a good addition but the expression or more so the way it was executed makes it not so great. Therefore it's not as desirable, the same reason why HT's Indy's head goes for cheap as opposed to say Peter Parker's.

2. The second shield is nothing new. If I was patient enough with auctions for the next few months, I'd probably snag 2 or more for 25 bucks total. especially now that this release is shown to come with 2 versions everyone wanted in the first place.

3. The only other accessory he comes with is a alien gun and a stand they always throw in with every figure. I don't count the hands because to me they're just part of the figure itself. But speaking of hands, a trigger and grip set would have been welcomed along with the rifle he's firing in the gif on page 1. That's clearly where they got the idea for the expression on the unmasked head in the first place.

This fig would be reasonable at 180 as is. Throw in the few extras I just mentioned and tweak that expression I'll give it 215 no problem.

No shooting hand in the specs. A bit weird:dunno

Super lame.

I thought that was a stupid omission, they're recycling the TFA hand molds and left out the trigger one :cuckoo:

How are they recycling TFA hand molds? Aren't the designs different? In regards to no trigger hand, it's either just HT being lazy, cheap or both.

Yeah $215 or even $194 on other sites is pretty expensive. I think I'm going to wait this one out and get it cheaper on ebay or gohastings.

I'm still not feeling this character. I love captain America to death but this guy just seems to wimpy to play this role. I think I like the original suit better. I was so looking forward to this suit looking good.

Its funny how HT latch on to a specific scene in a film, like when they gave Mark 4 the donut and sunglasses. They just decide "We are going to re-create this single moment down the last detail" This headsculpt is clearly based on the scene where Cap is firing that gun, YET they do not include the gun :cuckoo:

You never know what they will pick :dunno
