That's a nice pic of him in his trencher, sallah. Hat even looks decent. If they would have added a bit more size to the trencher it would have been perfect.

Sure is a lot of variation in the bow tie knots. Mine looks kinda wonky while others look really nice. I tried to adjust it but I couldn't get it to budge much.

I wonder how much the hat-hair is affecting my perception of the likeness. Because in this picture with the hair largely hidden I think it looks dead-on Nicholson Joker.

Well normaly I'm very fussy when it comes to likenesses, but I'm more then happy with what they've done with this. I think It's a very accurate representation of dear old Jack. :D

For those that own him, congrats! I have a question, is there a trick to buttoning the trench, I'm having trouble trying to button up mine, I really hate the width of those buttons pegs that HT's uses, would heat work perhaps to soften the peg to snap the coat together. :gah:

Tweak the eye position in each just a bit and they are both damn fine representations imo.

sorry but i just do not agree. sure thats a fine custom job, and maybe a sculpt like that may have been considered good before. but now that hot toys has released there ultra superior version, this other sculpt looks like a mattel doll in comparison. there is no question, HT trumps every other joker sculpt out there.

As far as likeness and character, Adam's custom sculpt is every bit as good as Hot Toys, but, there is a softness to how it was all sculpted, and i don't mean skin texture, that gives it a, for lack of better words, cheap look, like the bootleg Joker portrait, just with a better likeness.

like i said, the sculpt isnt bad,its good enough for a mattel line of toys, like this:

but to even say its HT worthy? hell nah!

i still think it looks like a "toy" version of jacks joker. it has that sloppy "custom fanmade" look. it lacks the realness and life-like quality that HT achieves.

Great review Sallah, really enjoyed it. Like I said for your Batman review, your genuine enthusiasm for the 1989 Batman film is really cool to see. I thought I was the only one that noticed/knew about the bullet hole through Napier's lucky deck, good to see I wasn't alone.

Good stories, great pics, fantastic review. I can't wait to get Joker and have it displayed next to Batman. Been waiting years for this.
