Likely not.

But if they released all their stuff at 1/3 cheaper than what they are.... I'm betting there wouldnt be so many grievances with them.

Sure people are always going to complain...that's just human nature.

Seriously . . . do any of us believe Sideshow actually cares? They produce X amount. They sell X amount. X amount gets sent back for whatever reasons. Their customer service & returns department will handle whatever issues (i.e. exchanges, refunds, etc.). They produce more with or without QC issues which they know that collectors like us will continue to buy/pre-order as always even with the all complaints & threats because they know they're the only game in town who produces 1:6 GI JOE RAH offerings.

Short of a Sideshow representative chiming in within this section of the forum to officially address any QC issue, we can continue to comment & criticize all we want, but the end result is that some of us will get <CENSORED> over due to a QC issue and end up either requesting a replacement that will be equal to or worse than the defective item (i.e. HAWK) or some of us will simply go through the effort & time to return the item and receive a refund. OH . . . and some of us may end up fortunate with no QC <CENSORED> ups.

This is ridiculous. Sideshow's entire sales model is built around fan jerking. This isn't Hasbro dumping a million 3 3/4th figs into the blind retail world, Sideshow lives or dies by just a hundred or so sales per item I am sure. They're a vanity collector market provider, they have to listen to the fans and pay attention to bulk complaints, we're their bread & butter. And there has been enough evidence in the past of seeing that Sideshow is listening, do read these boards, and change things because of that, to call BS on this.

Doesn't mean they don't get plagued by manufacturing defects, shipping screw-ups or other unknowable issues. That's why they have awesome customer service, and I've seen very few complaints from anyone who has actually had to deal with them in that area as well.

Sure we can comment and criticize, but not falling prey to message board nonsense rhetoric is also something we should strive to do as well. :nana:

Does this means that whining in fan forums is pointless, has no purpose, and is a waste of everyone's time?

Huh...where have I heard that before?

:gah:
Quit your whining about whiners.... no one wants to hear it and Sideshow cant charge credit cards based on whining... :nana:

If only you would talk to a customer service rep...you could whine to them. Perhaps even suggest they make 1:6 scale violin??? :wink1:

in this case the genius that decided to ship Dusty like that needs to be fired....immediately...:wave:wave

Yeah, his HS was pretty bad, probably the worst of all the figs so far out of the box. Thing is, almost every Joe I have so far I had to mod and futz the hell out of to get where I wanted, Viper so far being the least of those. But every figure has also had a pretty big improvement in some regard over the previous release - Hawk was pretty much just a bash of gear with a jacket and new HS added, but the sculpting was so good, along with the paint, it really turned out great.

I am all for complaining, believe me. I just try to be reasonable in the complaints though, and expect things aren't going to be perfect oob or even necessarily how I want them either. Sideshow listens, maybe not to every individual single complaint and wish list, but they do listen.

Man, I just want more Joe dollies, that's all I care about :D

I can say the paint job was bad for Dusty; the actual sculpt was awesome.

Eek, yeah that's what I meant to say. I repainted mine, it's a great sculpt once you get all the weird off his face.

Wait, this isn't the Dusty thread?! /hijack

Thanks.

Send me a head and be prepared to wait an upwards of 6 months for me to actually finish it, and it's yours! (kinda joking, but I have gotten bad about finishing custom stuff the last couple years.)

I regretably had to cancel R & R due to many financial obligations coming up. I wish that he had came out in January like he was originally intended to, he'd be on my shelf.:gah:

That makes zero sense. He'd be on your shelf, but you'd be $140 further in the hole. What the difference?:slap
