Re: 1/6 Cyborg Maul anyone??

MACE WINDU : There is no doubt. The mysterious warrior was a Sith.
YODA : Always two there are....no more...no less. A master and an
apprentice.
MACE WINDU : But which one was destroyed, the master or the apprentice?

Destroyed. Hmmm... That pretty strongly implies that Maul did not survive his meeting with Obiwan.

Re: 1/6 Cyborg Maul anyone??

Why is Cyborg Maul so unbelievable?
Cyborg Maul = Cut off at waist.
General Grevious = Cut off at waist +2 arms + face!
:dunno

I don't know how Grievous to to where he was... is that an actual backstory, or an EU explanation?

And anyway... if it is, it doesn't make him or this goofy creation any less silly. Maul was killed, end of story... if he wasn't you can be damn sure Lucas would have brought him back himself to milk that teat for as much as it would give.

Cut in half, dropped down a endless shaft = dead

Just accept it :cuckoo:

I repeat...

"Sion fought for Exar Kun's Sith Empire until the day he was struck down. Rather than die, though, Sion found that by calling on his pain, anger, and hatred, he could rise from certain death and achieve immortality, at the cost of all-consuming agony. With a body fractured and decomposing, but held together by the dark side of the Force, Sion survived the Great Sith War."

:exactly: :goodpost:

Add Darth Vader = both arms, both legs cut off and burned alive.

Re: 1/6 Cyborg Maul anyone??

I can really accept a comeback of a so called death figure due to all the comparable star wars dudes like vader and grievous as near death humans to continuing life as a cyborg. But why didn't maul come back in any of the two other prequels then? If he wasn't killed or at least could be saved by being turned into a cyborg, why not make use of him in ep II or III?! So in the end not too unrealistic, but unlucky.

Grievous made his first appearance in the comics in a short story in Star Wars: Visionaries called The Eyes of Revolution. This story reveals that Grievous was once Kaleesh general Qymaen jai Sheelal, a fierce warrior engaged in a brutal war with the rival planet Huk. He boards a shuttle to take him to another battle, unaware that Dooku had planted an explosive device in it. He is later reconstructed following the shuttle explosion, taken into the Separatist cause by Dooku

Dude was blown up and reconstructed GB

Very true Nova-Force, I guess we'll just get rid of General Grevious and Darth Vader the 2 biggest villans in the Star Wars movies! :dunno

This almost feels like I'm having a discussion about the existence of God... random quotes from the EU do not a truth make :lol

As for Vader, people can have limbs severed and be burned yet still live... not so much when they are chopped in half through their stomach and/or dropped down endless shafts :Lol

Re: 1/6 Cyborg Maul anyone??

Got the AWESOME PF for that character so would not be interested in a 1/6.

:welcome1: Bizzitty ignore the haters :wave

Hey Nova-Force...your the first person to actually welcome me officially! I appreciate it! And yeah, theres alot of haters, but at the end of the day, Maul still kicks alot of A$$ and is my favorite Sith...

Heh...my kiddo...who is only two...when he sees Darth Maul says and I quote, "Arth Aul...Coooool" He'll be shedding tears when he sees Ep 1 for the first time because Maul dies...lol

Well, I'll say "welcome" also - as someone who is still sometimes considered a "noob" almost a year after my first post, I know a warm welcome can be nice. :wink1:

As for cyborg maul, I like the design from "Visionaries", would make an awesome figure. Fanboys are so rigid sometimes - Greivous is essentially a brain a pair of eyes and a sac of internal organs in a robotic body and people have no problem accepting him as plausibe - but a dude with robot legs? Sith and jedi use the force all the time to do incredible, impossible leaps, run at the speed of light, levitate objects, stop falls, but a guy surviving a fall? Inconceivable...

And Lucas and EU writers have been having villainous characters meet gruesome violence, resulting in cybernetic replacement since the beginning of the saga. The cybernetic parts are usually used as an analogy for characters cheating fate and losing their humanity in the process. Remember Luke looking at his cybernetic hand and then Vader's stump in the final duel during ROTJ? That was his moment of zen, when he realizes that this is about to happen to him, he's on the verge of sharing his father's fate - and stops himself. It's a great device, very reminiscent of Tolkien and his anti industrial revolution/pro-nature stance. Technology = not so great, nature = good. Back in the day when people actually liked Star Wars and didn't bash it over every stupid detail, this was seen as a strength of the films. My .02 dollar's worth...

What is up Khonsu70! Glad to be here! And your words are too true, folks are discounting Mauls return as blasphemy when SOOOO many characters in the SW universe have cheated death or like you mentiond Greivous have been blown apart and still are accepted....

It's funny...but everyone has their opinion and thats OK...no matter how :cuckoo: it seems...:lol

Re: 1/6 Cyborg Maul anyone??

galacticboy, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. . :lol

not necessarily... truth is not a point of view when science is concerned.

Re: 1/6 Cyborg Maul anyone??

not necessarily... truth is not a point of view when science is concerned.

But the force transcends science, thats the whole point. :)

Remember, it was science that created the Death Star, and when Admiral Motti said, "This station is now the ultimate power in the universe!" Vader replied, "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force." Now don't tell me your going to argue with Vader? You know what happened to Motti :thud::lol

Outlander! Whats up!? Thanks for the welcome. It is a decent lil' thread isn't it? I just really love the character of Maul and want him in all incarnations possible in the 1/6th scale...I knew there would be some hate, and some love too....especially from the rigid OSFB's...but it's all good...:lol
