$618 at Goodshipped Ebay store with free shipping.

I'm waiting for SS to put it up.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

When HT sells a product there's no contracts or certificate saying you have #135/1000 units. Certainly their edition sizes are smaller than someone like Mattel or Hasbro, but that shouldn't be confused with a limited edition. There's no promise implied that any of this stuff will never be re-released.

If that ruins a few Comic Book Guy feelings of "I have one and you don't" I think HT will live with that.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

I don't care if HT makes a million of these as long as I own one of those million.

I could care less what my collection is worth money wise because it's a worth a ton for me emotionally.

I don't sell my stuff anymore, I buy to keep.

Jye - do you cuddle with your toys:horror j/k man.

I feel the same way. I feel my collection is actual art work. My wife finds it odd that I will stare at certain figures as though I am looking at an art painting. The value is not what drives my obsession, however, as prices go up I am forced to be more selective than I would like.

I don't have any of the re-release that HT's is currently putting out. I am very excited to get Mark I, but doubt I get the Tumbler due to price. Robo Cop would be nice too.

In reality, I think we are small group of collectors. I just hope many of HT's decisions are based to support the hobby and not greed. But I think we all also agree that the flipping of their products has got to stop as that truly destroys.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

I wouldn't be surprised if they do the camo version, but I like the black better.

I think the camo is still a given, but I'm genuinely interested to see how that is handled now. Had they not re-released the black Tumbler, you'd have to assume that there'd be a good number of people who would buy it just to own a Tumbler. Even if they prefer the black, they might get the camo just to have one at retail.

But now, people who only want to have a Tumbler will almost definitely go for the black, unless the camo is really improved. And probably by the time we find out that info, the black will already be at post-retail prices. But now the camo seems like an especially niche product, since it's one thing for a collector to buy a $400+ gigantic vehicle. But the number of collectors who can afford the money and space for two within a year... probably pretty small.

Wow had no idea the original was that big :horror

Even if this is affordable I'll have to ask myself the question of I am actually going to be able to display it (no point spending the money and keeping it in a box)

Anyone got a handy link to the guy that put his in a coffee table?
Yeah, that's definitely a consideration. I eventually tracked this bad boy down, and let me tell you, I had a tough time figuring out what to do with it. Ultimately, I had to just put it in its box, because the space it took up to display was the same space it took me to display 4 or 5 PFs. It really needs to go on top of a big display case, or in some kind of wacky custom coffee table like that guy with the Borg avatar (I think) had. Otherwise, it's just gonna be sitting on the floor.

Because of the Tumbler, I've come to the conclusion that 1/6th scale vehicles are just a bit too much for my collection. Cool? No doubt. But just way more than I need or can really deal with.

I disagree.

I think there's a reason Nolan calls it the Tumbler and NOT the Batmobile, it's NOT a sleek sports car hybrid which we have traditionally seen in Batman films, comic books and cartoons - it is something a bit different. Calling it a Batmobile ignores that fact.

That would be like calling 'The Bat' from TDKR a Batwing.

It's NOT called Batwing and I think that's because it's not exactly like a traditional plane. It appears to be more of a hovercraft type vehicle, but I guess we'll find out when the film comes out.
Dude. . .it's the Batmobile :lol

I'm happy for the black relaunch because I was not going to purchase the Camo, no matter how nice.

I don't want a Banemobile, I want the Batmobile!

I am very lucky with this relaunch.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

The price on the Batpod has skyrocketed, maybe I'll sell my Batpod and buy a Tumbler. :lol

Jye soon you will be able to change your sigpic to "just bought!" im glad that this is being re released since a lot of freaks missed out at the time. I doubt I'll pick this up as I'm only really interested in the 89 mobile, but this is one sexy vehicle.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

So confused whether (or weather? Also confused) to get this one or the 89??
This one is so badass! But I kinda grew up watching and playing with the 89 one so its sort of nostalgic...

I know, I'm so looking forward to day that beast is in my hands.

The cancellation of the original preorder has a really deep emotional connection to me, I remember cancelling because of financial stress we were under with the birth of our son, my wife still not understanding why I needed to spend that kind of money on toys, me not understanding how collecting even worked in the first place (preorders, HT, SS, how any of it worked, how this forum was an integral part of everything superhero collecting and lolz cat photos and gifs, then my second failed attempt at getting the car).

I can't wait to retire my Sig after the purchase of the Tumbler and 89 car. :yess:

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

lol hot toys is pathetic. im glad i stopped buying. what is the point of stamping "limited edition" on all of their products only to rerelease the exact product later on to rip off other customers. the toy enthusiast in me loves their work, but the toy collector in me is disgusted with their milking and pricing.
