This is from the Australian importer. They deal direct with eFX.

No date at all on the Tie, Vader helmets and now the Stormtrooper stunt helmet - that was due in November - has been delayed because the glue that held the foam pieces inside the helmet was rejected by eFX.

As I've said MANY times before... I love their product, attention to detail, etc. But these delays are off the scale. I know it's not their fault, but do what they did with the Luke helmet; announce it when it is ACTUALLY ready to ship.

I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but I think they need to find another factory to work with.

The thing I'm waiting the most is the TIE Fighter. All my life I wanted a few SW items: 1:1 Stormie (check), studio scale AT-AT (check), studio scale TIE Fighter, studio scale Star Destroyer. I really hope we'll get some good news about the TIE Fighter soon. I hope.

Like to hear people's opinions on the code 3 vader tie fighter....
Haven't seen one in person but would like to extent my collection into some star wars vehicles

To answer the question -

MR ATAT V.1 - words can't describe how gorgeous it is. And it took me many years to finally obtain one.

EFX XWing

Upcoming TIE

Always looking for a deal on the Falcon....still kicking myself for letting the Redford Films deals pass me by years ago. Uggh.

It is great and quite close to the Studio Scale. There are 2 variants: regular and battle damaged with James Earl Jones autograph - though JEJ signs TTM so not hard to get his auto for free. I'd recommend the regular Vader TIE and not the signature edition, regular is cheaper, and the battle damage on the signature version looks quite bad and clumsy. The only good thing about the sig one is the base which is like a section of Death Star. The regular has a simple and elegant black stand and base though, like the other regular Code 3 items.

The ship itself is made of metal and resin/polystone, it is quite heavy, but very sturdy, comes with a long magnetic tool that helps you remove the cockpit hatch and engine cover. The details are simply amazing! Details on exterior of the ship and even in the interior, where you have a Darth Vader figure inside on his pilot chair. Paint apps are great, no sloppiness and the ship is very stable on its stand. For example I couldn't believe how stable the Code 3 AT-ST is, and it stays only on its legs, and doesn't have special stand or screws on the sole.

If you want high quality at good price go for the Code 3. I only have the Vader's TIE and AT-ST because my focus are OT Imperials. But are among my favorite items in my collection. Well worth the price.

^thanks jkno for your detailed opinion.
I just picked up the code 3 vader tie fighter
after reading your comments.
Might look at another code 3 piece if one pops
Up for a reasonable price. X-wing, at-st or falcon?

The AT-ST is the only other one from your list that hasn't been made in high end by other companies yet. If looking for the others you can find better ones like MR Falcon, eFX X-Wing, but of course budget is important since these are expensive. Even the Code 3 AT-ST could go for $250-$550, depending on luck.

Star Destroyer's never going to happen, would be way too big of a project not to mention half of them would break during shipping.

There are superb fan made ones with lights and everything. eFX could have made it in the Precision Cast line.

That's not studio scale, actually only a little over half of what the studio scale would be.

And there's people who make customs way better than what efx could ever make. For instance there's a great X-Wing Studio Scale kit that a group just released that's pretty awesome.

Yep, agreed. I've seen that one on RPF, it KILLS the eFX. Further to this, I have to say, I'm OVER this eFX worshipping crap. Everyone rants on about the justification of their delays due to their product being so good...

Well gents, here's a perfect example of how (NOT) good they are...

...and I own the eFX X-Wing, so I'm speaking from experience.

I always said that many fan made items (props, helmets, studio scales, statues, figures, you name it) are much better than licensed ones. Examples can be seen on RPF and even here on SSF. Too bad some collectors cannot see farther than licensed items, also considering the fan made ones inferior.
