I believe the figure is based on a comic book where Vader survived RotJ. So he still needed his life support suit, but wasn't evil, so he went white.

Had this actually been released, yeah, people probably would have bashed it saying they wanted a "real" new Vader. :lol

But I think this would have been a real good con exclusive, or even a fundraiser item (like it is now, but with a full edition not a 1 of a kind). Hasbro gets away with stuff like that all the time and Disney gets to make Disney characters as Star Wars characters. Why can't Sideshow make something from a comic LFL already realeased and approved for a different company?

Nathan, please pass along the support of this next time you visit Sideshow. Hopefully if they do see the support, they will keep hounding LFL to get it approved!

Thanks for clarifying, Buttmunch. I was aware of the Infinities comic, but never read it. I thought this was supposed to be a ghost Anakin. I didn't know he was supposed to have survived ROTJ and still be alive as White Vader. That significant detail makes all the difference. In that case, I can totally buy into the concept. If Stormtroopers had white armor, why couldn't a good cyborg Anakin?

I'm sure I won't need to say anything next time I go to Sideshow HQ about the positive interest in this piece. They lurk the forum all the time. I'm sure they've seen this thread and are taking note of the interest already.

There are more than a few Infinities concepts that while they didn't make complete sense, they would be awesome visually as figures. The made Cyborg Darth Maul which was an Infinities piece, I'm not sure why LFL balked at this.

Yeah, him being a ghost wouldn't make any sense in the suit. But because he isn't dead, it made more sense. He certainly doesn't look as threatening in white, which I think he would want going for him after RotJ. Or maybe not :lol

Yeah, exactly. Why'd they let them make an expensive PF of that! But not a 1:6 Vader? I mean there are only so many Vader variants they can make without us feeling ripped off. This was a legit variant. Sure people will want ESB/RotJ more, but this would have made for a nice con exlusive or other special item. Heck, we got Santa Yoda base of some artwork this year. If Sideshow had done a poor job on this I could understand, but the prototype looks fantastic. I just don't get LFL's reasoning behind axing this.

The Incinerator Trooper I get making though. That think is fugly :lol

A Con Ex as BM suggested earlier would be perfect for something like this. I would get it say next year at comic-con without a doubt.

Yeah, this isn't something for everyone. It also would have been a great way to tide us over until the next real, new Vader came along. Instead we got another clone variant for SDCC. :slap

Don't get me wrong I'll take clone variants all day for comic-con but this would be a cool change too.

People would actually want this? I don't get it at all, got to be one of the dumbest looking figures I've ever seen.

The hello Kitty Vader looks tougher :lol

:exactly:

That would never, under any circumstances, find a way into my collection. I think it looks horrible.

Would have been a decent con exclusive though.

funny that there are only a few guys here that don't want it. and wow it's going for a mint.

Really REALLY hope this guy gets approved later on down the line... perhaps even in a ROTJ vader suit instead... with improved articulation in his wrists.

Not to nitpick or anything, but it's the wrong Vader as the base. Should be a ROTJ Vader...but it's still cool anyway :p

It's interesting but no way would i want that in my collection. What it's going for on ebay is because it's a one of a kind and goingto a good cause.
