That must be a mistake, I got the Predalien bust for $220 shipping to Australia and the box on that would have to be bigger than this. I have this on Flex so it would be good to have the ship price sorted before SS has my money for 6 months :gah:

It's not Sideshow, it's Australia.. And I'm not talking about how difficult it is for a shipping company to ship something there.

because the ship so many items to overseas destinations they get a big discount from Fedex, a discount they can pass onto the customer, thats people like us.
I only paid $65.00US to have a 1:1 mask posted all the way to Australia, yet a 1:1 mask purchased from e-bay was well over $150US posted from the U.S.
Anyways here the e-mail I got from SIDESHOW this morning, it's a real bummer cause I really wanted this thing!!!

Dear Steven,

Thank you for your order with Sideshow Collectibles.

We are currently processing the final payments for the 1:1 Berserker Predator Bust and I wanted to send you a ship quote before we proceed with your order. Due to the extremely large size of this product it cannot be shipped by FedEx but instead by a freight company. This will result in the price of the freight being on the costly side and I do not want you to be unpleasantly surprised. The cost to ship the 1:1 Berserker Predator Bust to you will be approximately $1,084.30 for a total of $1,293.54 on your final payment– this is minus the deposit already paid on the order and all flex payments charged. That does not include any customs fees or taxes assessed by your government.

I was given permission by my supervisor that I can discount the shipping by $100.00 to brings the final payment total down to $1,193.54 USD.

Please let me know if this is acceptable to you. I will hold your order for five business days, or until November 22, 2011. If I don’t hear back from you by the due date, I will go ahead and process your order and ship it out.

Please let me know if I can assist you further!

Sideshow have posted many large parcels or boxes to overseas locations, they know the approximate cost involved when it comes to shipping (BUSTS LIKE THE WOLF PREDATOR OR PREDALIEN IS A GOOD EXAMPLE) yet they don't state these prices when things go up on pre-order, If I had known before hand this thing was going to cost that much to post to Australia I never would have placed the order in the first place!

Bro just buy it from here...

Problem solved...Popcultcha are the Aussie Sideshow distributors and
their customer service is top notch so if you have any issues you wont
have any problem with returns..Good luck.

Thanks Nacho just gotta wait for my refund now, theres a few places where you can order this bust :)
heres the latest reply I got from SIDESHOW:

A bit silly to suggest a U.S address???

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your email. I do understand that the shipping cost is really high. I can go ahead and cancel your order. The other option is that if you have US address that we can ship this order to we can do that as well and the cost of the shipping would be way less than the shipping cost to Australia. If you are interested in the shipping this order to a US address please fill out the form. If you are not interested in this offer just reply to this email and request to cancel.

So did Sideshow say they will be charging you any cancellation fees? Or are they waiving the cancellation fees?

the e-mail simply stated I would get a full refund, no mention of the actual cancellation fee, all I can do is wait until my credit card is reimbursed which can take up to 5 working days :( I am expecting a full refund anyways, SIDESHOW have no right to keep money for not supplying anything, I will keep you guys updated, I wonder if any other Aussies or International buyers are having the same problem?

Oh, but they do have a right to keep your money for the cancellation fee.

That's why you clicked the little box agreeing to it before you ordered the bust.

You agreed to it...they get to keep it.

I still can't understand the cost to ship this to Australia being $1100. WTF???? From Sideshow directly in the past I have gotten the Predalien ($205) and Vader ($175) busts and the 1:2 Iron Man Mark III Maquette ($160) and all of those boxes look bigger than the one in Turtle's pics... Hell Sideshow sent the Optimus Prime EX here for $25 and the box on that is pretty big.
If SS can't ship big items here with their Fedex subsidy anymore collecting just got really painful.

they should give you guys a quote before ordering or it's best to ask them before you order. A lot has changed within SS recently and it's obvious; it seems like maybe they lost their deal with the carrier. That's a lot to lose in a cancellation fee, but they may give you a break this one time.

not to mention they will lose a lot of international customers as well!
I agreed to buy the bust but I am certainly not going to agree with paying over $1000 for postage, thats just plain ridiculous!!!
Just wondering if other Aussies are having the same issue, if thats the case then theres going to be a few cancellations and a lot of upset customers:horror

It's really strange. If they have lost their deal with the carrier then I don't see how they can sell international anymore.

well if they did, they should say something. Expecting someone to pay $1k in postage is crazy. I swear, with all the whacked out ____ going on lately with SS (saying Wolf would go up for order, changing the ES on the 1:2 Endo, charging $1k in shipping to intl folks), it seems like SS has undergone new management, and it's effecting the company in a very bad way.

$1,000 postage to Australia should be a full rate anyone got from FedEx. Try input dimension of the Berserker box to FedEx website and you should get a similar rate. So, does that mean SS is not getting discount from FedEx anymore?...hell if it's like that collecting ex pieces will be a pain.

Sideshow seems to be more and more erratic recently. What's going on with them?

I am sure with our domestic economy stuck in a rut, Sideshow wouldn't want to cut off a big chunk of their revenue by shutting out the international customer base. But who knows what Sideshow is thinking about? They have been really strange recently, if I may use that word.

This isnt directly Sideshows fault. I have a Fedex account, and while I'm sure I get nowhere near the discount Sideshow does, shipping rates have been going up, up, UP.

I used to ship quite often overseas, but rates have almost all but eliminated that. For example, 4 years ago I shipped a massive 3ft box for about $250 to Australia, 2 years ago I shipped a Cinemaquette for about $450 (again Australia), a couple of months ago it was almost $400 to ship a 20inX20in box to Australia. Its like this for all the shipping companies and its not just to Australia. :monkey2

USPS only does little boxes now, unless you go express (super expensive) and even then they dont do large items anymore.

And Fedex recently refused to ship a HCG Alien bust overseas due to size, so I'm not surprised they arent taking the Berserker.

I work for usps..parcels shipment has increased over pass 10 yrs as 1st class mail is near extinction bc of the internet..many shipping companies has increase rates bc logistics has gotten big..that is where the profit is...just recently i use ups ground to ship a avg size bust to california from nyc and it cost me $40...now they measure box size, weight and destination for cost..feel sorry for the international collectors bc its not fair..

Caution: packing for this item is not good. The outter box is nothing but a cover for the inner box, meaning there was no added styro foam protection at the corners for spacing it properly to allow impact dampening. The entire statue should have been incased in a styrofoam coffin, but it is not.

Just another update:
I sent them another e-mail asking if I would lose my initial (non refundable) deposit, they said no you wont you will be getting a full refund, so thats a good thing!
It's crazy to think carriers like Fedex or UPS would put size restrictions when it comes to posting overseas, they are losing big time!!!

anyone else from overseas having this problem???
