Just heard back from Troy from fanboycollectibles. He said Sideshow won't be taking them back. He offered me a refund, but I guess I'll just keep them. I talked to someone from Sideshow and they said a lot of the Mark V's are like this and chances are if I get a replacement, it will have the same defect.

Just received this figure and I am completely blown away by what HT has done....it is truly a masterpiece!! Obviously those who don't complain about this figure either do not own them at all, or are simply too picky. I just can't find anything wrong with this figure, even proportion-wise. This figure is downright gorgeous and tops even the Mark VI I say. Glad I didn't pass up on this!

No paint issues on the arms of your Mark V?

Leading to the conclusion that........

....it's not a defect. It was intended.

It's supposed to be scorched paint and carbon weathering. In the movie, the suit got JACKED UP. Remember?

I'll put my flame suit on, but it's annoying as hell all the people that SWEAR that Hot Toys sent out all these 'defective' units.

Sideshow is basically telling you to GTFO because there is no defect. I don't expect anyone to listen, though.

I'll file this in the 'ZOMG! My Mark IV/VI has silver scratches all over!!!' drawer.

None that I noticed. I do, however, have that flappy hand guard thing on the left hand. And the left leg, although still tight, is not as tight as the right leg. But I'm not really too bothered by them because I've had no problems posing this figure at all. Overall, really impressed with the Mark V!

Oh, I also liked how HT made the Mark V, being supposedly the skinniest and a stripped-down armor, having a nice amount of bulk and weight on the figure. This why, in my eyes, it trumps the Mark VI figure. The VI feels somewhat "fragile" due to its lightweight.

EDIT: I think I know what you guys are talking about with regards to the left bicep. I was removing the batteries when I noticed that yes, the left bicep didn't really have that gloss the right bicep did. But, it had the weathering effect and the fact that the back part of the bicep was glossed made me think that it was intentional.

Still, even if it wasn't intentional, I wouldn't return it. Really enjoying this figure and just looks so great next to my VI & WM.

That's the sad thing sometimes...nitpicking really takes the fun and enjoyment out of all these stunning figures. I'm not saying that HT's stuffs are problem-free (God knows the DX 02 was ridden with problems), but if we just lay off the nitpicking a little, we would be enjoying all these masterpieces so much more.

Just my 2 cents!

it wouldn't make any sense for it to be intentional. yeah the suit and left arm get messed up in the movie but that's why a battle damaged left arm is included. why mess up the clean arm too? i'm still thinking it's a factory defect. somebody forget to gloss up a whole bunch of left arm biceps.

Wish I knew how to use a DSLR haha...

My only dilemma right now is who should the last member of the box with Mark V be? I have Keaton Bats on PO, then again I think Cap might be a better fit...or I should just let Mark V have the freedom of his own box? Some input will be appreciated haha... :)
