HT enough with the ____ing PERS! As a matter of fact ____ it, it can all go! The light up base, googly eyes etc. NO more gimmicks.

The Bad

It's simple. You saw that the price increased from your original preorder. Seeing that increase made you psychologically interrupt the situation in a negative light, thus giving off the feeling that, despite not buying the figure that you were ripped off.

Or something like that.

Yeah, something like that :) I'm well over it now, I just thought it was curious - like you think you know yourself and your brain does something like that.

The response to this figure has me wondering what the chat around the HT water cooler must be like these past couple of days. Kinda glum at the reception their Indy has got, or just business as usual...

This thread makes me :lol. I make valid points and they get blown off in favor of another pissing contest. Though, in retrospect, isn't that what this entire thread is?:rofl

Also, I fall under the category of "liking PERS." HT did a half-ass job of integrating it into Indy, but don't blame that on the tech. Keaton Batman and Nicholson Joker are perfect examples of just how awesome PERS can be when done right.

I really hope you're right. Cause what we have seen so far is only prototypes. I seen them along with Indy in person at the SDCC and Indy now looks nothing like he did there.

Fortunately Keaton did wear black eyeshadow as Batman.....

Yeah, PERS is a mixed bag.

It's too bad this Indiana Jones didn't get the PERS treatment that Keaton Batman, Jack Joker, Jack Sparrow and a few others have gotten. You can't even tell they have movable eyes.

Hell, I remember the first shots of Nicholson Joker and Keaton Batman and I thought maybe they were just regular MMS figures on DX bases because of the regular looking eyes. They're so seamless and un-noticeable

It sucks that Indy's are so wonky in nearly ever shot. It's been this way since the figure's conception too.

No two ways about it, Trev's was an AMAZING piece of work, let down by simply appalling paint apps... However this is the straight from the box Indy I think I want in my collection. Sure, the pics throw up problems, but it still looks like THE most solid ROTLA depiction @ 1/6 yet... well, to my old eyes anyhows!

Yeah, I agree it's the best Indy to date out of the box but then there's the price. So there really is no winning. :(

I was also somewhere in the middleish. . .until the production version was shown. Though these threads always do seem to go off the rails one way or the other nowadays, the whole "you're an idiot if you can't see that this figure. . ." either looks like or doesn't look like Ford is the most tiresome thing of all. The "you're part of an ignorant groupthink mentality" argument is beyond laughable and really just shows me that these people have blinders on. Say your piece, voice your anger or adoration, but don't go around insulting others for having a different opinion. Christ sake.

So, me, you and Toy Lion are the "Middlers"?

This is a great picture and REALLY looks like Ford, "Didn't you guys ever go to Sunday school?"

But then, uh-oh PERS be crazy! One up one down! I wish they'd kill the Eagle Eye™ and be done with it. It's a cool idea but more often then not it's broken or an eye decides to go rogue. :lol

I've been visiting this thread for sheer entertainment value, as I have absolutely no intention of getting any Indiana Jones figure, but I do have to say that when the proto pics of the Sideshow Indy were shown I was really tempted.
This, on the other hand, never even piqued my interest due to the bad head sculpt.
And seeing all these in-hand pics really makes me feel for all big Indy fans. I have to say that IMHO this is by far the worst likeness by Hot Toys in recent history.
I can relate to it because of the huge disappointment HT's Giger Alien was for me.
Has anybody thought of using Sideshow's excellent sculpt (repainted) to put on the figure? The gear and outfit look pretty much top-notch to an Indy-layman like myself...
Anyway, I will go back to my voyeuristic activities in this thread and shut up.
