Re: Hot Toys Indiana Jones In Hand Pics

:lol. Guess I'll just wade through the venom to wait and see more in-hand pics. I'm dying to see the Map room done with an actual production piece.

Snyder-man for the win. Glad I invested in this custom head instead of ordering the Hot Toys figure. An Indiana Jones figure must look like Ford or it's all a waste of time. Now to start upgrading the other parts of my figure

It's not flawless, but it doesn't "suck". I'm simply not succumbing to the groupthink mentality on this or resorting to hyperbole when critiquing this figure.

I'll own and enjoy it in my collection. Got a problem with that? ---> :moon

Really, a new thread for such bad pictures? :dunno

I gotta save this for the next time you start bashing something. :lol

I hope you're right. I picked up DX Bruce Lee despite the terrible hair and because I'm a big Bruce fan somehow I was fine with it. I wish I was fine with what I've seen so far of this figure. I don't know why it bothers me so much, maybe because funds are tighter now than a few months back.

I think you should give HT and Kim the benefit of the doubt with this.

Look at your Lee. Look at Superman. They both turned out great. This in hand will look just as beautiful.

Lejuan, if I were you, I would'nt give it the benefit of the doubt for $250. The economy is tight. Think of how many other things you can buy with $250. How many boxes of pampers, tanks of gasoline, tickets to Broadway plays or sporting events, 2 1/2 months of cable tv or a nice dinner out with the family.

I admire the Bruce Lee and Superman figures from afar, but would not consider spending that kind of money for them even if they were perfect. Why not ? Because I'm not a "big" fan. I can't spend that kind of money on every figure that Hot Toys trots out.

But I will buy this. Why ? Because I'm a "big" Indy fan. I realize it's not perfect. But its a whole package. Truth be told I am a little dissapointed in the sculpt. And I would'nt expect it to look much different "in hand" from the video. Although how I position mine and place his hat and where I place him in what light may make some difference. I'm kinda surprised how many of you guys like the sculpt.

Maybe after you have had a few beers.....and several shots.

Now THATS a really good idea. How many beers can $250 buy ? I might even be able to buy 6-8 Westvleteren Abt 12

Re: Hot Toys Indiana Jones In Hand Pics

PERS really wasn't needed on this figure, imo.

Feel free, because even when I'm fired up and don't like something I'll at least stay on the right side of sanity & rationality about it compared to the ridiculousness in these Indy threads. :wave

I dont have it PO and I def dont think its as good as how Supes turned up but Its by far the Best Indy that has been made. I might jump on this when it hits states side and if I have any spare cash

Now that's funny. :lol

Re: Hot Toys Indiana Jones In Hand Pics

After nearly a year of debate, it looks... a lot like the prototype!

It's a really nice sculpt and see HF in there, but it's in the ballpark of the HT Jake Gylenhall from Prince of Persia in terms of likeness - you can see the actor, but it's not dead-on. This is a better likeness than the Dastan, but not by much.

It's less than three years ago that Sideshow's Indy was released - at $90. This is nearly three times the cost. Yes, it has a few extra goodies, but it underlines the idea that if you charge what HT charges, it has to be 10/10, or at least a 9.5.

Perfection is built into the Hot Toys price.

This headsculpt (and the HT jacket too...) is about an 8/10. Which is strong, but not perfect.

I look forward to seeing if I can get this for somewhere around the $130-150 mark, which to me is the discount for not receiving a 10/10 item.

That's funny because the Hot Toys sculpt looks better than that custom. :lol

Wait so even with these 3 angled close up pics you STILL waitin til its in hand to decide whether you like it?? How bout u just admit it sucks and save youeself $200 + ?? Lol..

That's what I'm doing... Can't justify 200+ dollars for this Fred Fintstone jawline. The head is SO badly off. If HT doesn't revisit it, I'll survive, but knowing them they'll announce a new version later. I'm not going to be the sucker that buys the crappy 1st version this time. :pfft:

I agree. My wife looked at the pictures of this and said that it was a bad likeness of Harrison Ford. I will wait for V2.0. With Hot Toys track record, this will be announced in the near future. I will skip V1 this time.
