A lot of people have been praising animal man. I've been tempted to check it out, but im already reading Swamp Thing, Batman, Detective, Action, Superman and Pain and Prejudice. And i'm trying to find All Start Western #1 for a decent price and maybe Teen Titans #1. So trying to hold off any more. But i hear Animal Man is quite the popular title.

Swamp Thing was pretty good & so is Ressurection Man.
Include Green Lantern, GL Corps, Red Lanterns & Omac has a nostalgic appeal to it.

Good to hear you liked it!
I hope the rest of the series keeps up the same standard as this first issue, of all the new 52 this has really been the hidden gem for me.
My copy of 'the Demon Laughs' arrived today too so going to read that tonight, had a quick flick through and looks good so far.

Yeah its great, really enjoying the back story of penguin. It really builds his character. I hadnt even heard of this so thanks for bringing it up sfa. It is, as you say, the hidden gem from dc at the minute. Cant wait for the next issue. And will be great if they do some other villains like this too. I'd love to see a series like this based around the riddler. Or scarecrow.
I think batman is my #1 out of all of the books

No worries! Yeah Penguins' characterisation has been great so far, very well written and I'm not even that huge of a fan of the character which is a testament to the book. I'd love to see more series like this based on other villains too. I'm sure DC said they had plans for more, I hope we do get some. Reminds me of the great Jokers' Asylum one-shots we got a while back, only better.

Picked up Animal Man and Swamp Thing second prints after hearing good things here and elsewhere. Pretty good. I'll probably add them to the list with Batman, CatWoman, and Wonder Woman.

It would be great if DC put out more of these. Especially done in the same style, as if they'd all be in the same world. Riddler would be great as i think he's rarely used well and to his full potential. Would be great to get something like this based around him. But then i think there are so many villains who could benefit from something like this, scarecrow, two-face, even someone like mr freeze. Could be a good opportunity to really establish a lot of batman's rogues as real threats again.
I was never a massive fan of penguin either. Didnt dislike the character, but just didnt really think much of him. But this series has really given me a new respect for the character.

I just got a second print of Swamp Thing #1 and first print of Swamp Thing #2. Gonna read them in a bit, once i've finished watching Mirrors. The movie, not just randomly looking at myself.
Omac was pretty good, so was DC presents: Deadman, I just can't buy all of them. As it is right now I am at 19 titles a month!
Not too mention I wanna get into some Marvel stuff again, and possibly Image (Spawn, though I hear it's not very good anymore) and Dark Horse.

I got the first two issues of Swamp Thing, which i've been waiting about a week for, and now they've arrived, i havent got round to reading them. Haha.
Well, yeah... especially since we're now about 36 hours away from the next onslaught of funnybooks.
