I can see Batman having his TDK suit getting ruined during a battle with Bane then he could either have a new one made, or have a backup suit with a new "gimmick."

I'd still bet on a new costume. Even with as much pull as Nolan now has with the studio, there are too many toy companies involved (Mattel, DC Direct, Hot Toys) for them not to tweak the suit a bit.

I agree with you on the backpack and gun, too. Even if they show up in the new movie, I'm betting the Dark Knight Rises Batman will have a different set of accessories.

For the inexpensive toys, it is irrelevant if TDKR has a new suit. Movie accuracy has never limited Mattel (or Kenner before them) from releasing dozens of variants of the Batsuits in their movie-based toy lines.

Now for DC Direct and Hot Toys consumers, I think there is enough demand for the TDK suit for them to just do re-releases of whatever merch they did before. (Not to mention the demand for the non-Batman characters, the new air vehicle and variant Tumblers, and the interest that is built-in because this is the last Nolanverse Batfilm).

Although, I hope there is a scene in the movie that justifies a battle-damaged TDK-suit Batman.

Well, besides the bat suits, all of the costumes in Nolan's rendition of Batman were pretty lame. Ledger's pancake-faced joker, the half-baked Harvey Dent, the "let's put a rice bag on his head!" Scarecrow . The new movie certainly seems to be following in that tradition. But, regardless of what sort of new costume Batman wears in DKR, I hope that Hot Toys does re-release the DX02 figure (with improvements). As long as I have a DX02 and an OC Batman, I wouldn't want anything else from this line.

I am sad. I took my DX Bats out of the detolf for his weekly wipe down last night and his damn ankle joint broke clean in half. I barley ever handle the thing, have rarely reposed him whatsoever, and under no pressure at all the boot was now dangling freely from the figure. I tried to reglue it, but only succeeded in rubbing all the shine off the boot, which is now noticeably duller in color from the other. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so fond of the character and the impressive look of this figure, because the quality issues here are the worst I've ever seen on any HT figure.
I changed him into the v1 boots, which appear to be the same sculpt, but are not as glossy. I've seen the DX get broken up and sold in pieces many times before. Anyone have any leads on a new pair of boots or what they would cost me?

You should have just bought new pegs instead of trying to glue it.

I wish that were the case. The peg didn't break. The plastic hole inside the bottom of the boot that the peg snaps into did. Broke clean in half.

Oh, so like the plastic sole with the socket hole? Wow, that's odd and cheap. Was it still attached to the rubber? There's that seam around the entire foot where the rubber is attached to the plastic.

Yeah. Exactly. Everything was still attached, just the plastic socket hole had split, deep down inside the boot. That ankle has always been a little loose, so I suspect it was flawed since day one. I was just holding the figure by the waist, wiping off his shiny tummy with a cloth, and when I placed him back inside the shelf he didn't seem to want to balance. So I tinkered with his legs, then his feet, and that's when I noticed the ankle was completely limp. The boot was being held to the body by the knee high rubber part. I tried my best to gently fold the rubber length of the boot down to the sole so I could glue the plastic parts, and it worked, but it also wore all the gloss off the boot, which might be worse than the break you couldn't even see.

The long nose tweezers or whatever they are would have been perfect. Next to the pliers.

I bought one of these guys from a fellow board member as well. Just got him in yesterday, and he's easily my favorite Batman figure (not an easy thing to do considering I have hundreds and hundreds of Batman figures and the Dark Knight isn't even my favorite version of the character).

The detail, likeness and accessories are awesome. I love the magnetic belt, although I haven't been able to get the second belt to stay on. No leaky oil on mine yet either, and a great price. He was opened, but complete and perfect.

The light up stand is also awesome as are the sonar features. Just a great, great toy. I'm so glad I bought him.

Hmm....i think i check the figure and if it's agreat problem, i talk to the seller and ask him to lower the price. Payed 600 $ including shipment from France. Dont want to pay this much for a leaking figure...

This is a great figure. Luckily mine was from the DCD batch and mine has had no leaking issues so far. I actually like this figure better than the OC batman.
