Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Damn footage gone :( Seeing them line up was sort of cool though just because it makes it that much more real this movie is coming.

I gotta say,

I love RDJ's public persona when with the fans and press. You can tell that it's an honor for him to portray TS/IM, he has so much fun with it! :rock :clap :rock

I'm already sick and tired of Christian Bale's snotty/angry persona when with the fans and press. He has zero chemistry and it's like he's doing everyone a favor playing Batman and doing interviews, what little he does anyways.

Marvel won out big time with their movie star, WB ended up with a ****** bag.

Can't wait for TDKR though :lol :slap

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Yeah, he does seem to love it and honestly fits Tony Stark from the comics. It really was a perfect casting job. I don't know how he is in his day 2 day life but he does seem like he'd be a really nice guy.

I love the work Bale has done with Batman but he does seem like a total ****** bag. Very much comes across as a typical rich snotty SOB that thinks he's the best because of what does. Like yous said I am very much looking forward to TDKR but not as much as The Avengers.

I'll admit it, as much as i'm looking forward to TDKR, especially since it looks like it's going into a more action orientated direction, but with the Avengers....this is a big deal for me as i'm sure it is for many others.

We've had bad Batman movies and great Batman movies going on for decades now.

But this is the first Avengers movie.

For me personally, it definately eclipses a new Batman movie.

My wife said the same to me, that it's just another Batman movie but Avengers is something new, exciting and fresh!

Combine that with the inevitable fan backlash that's already started on Nolan/TDKR, well......you see where i'm going :lol (although not from me, i'm looking forward to Nolan ending his trilogy).

After reading this I asked my Wife, and she is looking forward to the Avengers more too.
I will miss Nolan's Batman, but I am also looking forward to what they do with the Bat in the future (I am hoping for more of an Arkham Asylum feel)

I'm with ya. I think seeing all these guys folks have known for ages plus with how good their individual movies have been makes for some serious excitement. I have no doubts that TDKR will be awesome but seeing all these Marvel guys on screen is as you said something fresh and exciting. Right now there are only two movies in 2012 eclipse my normal can't wait to see it and thats The Avengers and The Hobbit Part 1.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I just read two different descriptions of this new footage and I was amazed at the difference in perspective. But it was obvious to me that the first one I read was written by someone who who just didn't get it.

The first comment that I read in that description that made me wonder was that writer describing

Spoiler Spoiler:

The second one was that writer saying that

Spoiler Spoiler:

There were a few other points as well.

But the second writer's description of the trailer seemed to make a hell of a lot more sense...despite the fact that I have not yet seen the actual footage.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

In relation to the breakdown of the D23 footage and this thread in general . I was born in 1966, read my first Avengers comic in 1972 and remember ( in great detail ), where I was and my feelings on doing so . When I read the description of the footage this morning , I felt more excitement than I have felt ( about a movie , I should add !) for a LONG time and almost TOO MUCH excitement than a 45 year old man should have about a mere "movie" ! :rotfl
God , next summer is a long way off ! :gah:

Joe Q apparently just showed a new Avengers clip at D23 that mixed the after the credits scenes from the all the films intermixed with new Avengers footage. I really hope that footage hits the web.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

For movies (not collectibles) D23 > SDCC

That is unless HT is showing off the Keaton Batman at the Disney event :lol
