After seeing these pics, the only way EB outsells BW is with a bag of coke as an exclusive.

Agree about BW's sculpt but I disagree overall.

No, I'm sorry, that is not allowed :nono

:lol

A reference source of neutral expression can be found from many different angles unlike one scene when he's about to blow up the door. Remember, it's not like drawing where you have only one reference photo. In 3D you want as many angles as possible.

I'm not convinced. Any expression from the film, neutral or otherwise, will not necessarily be replicated from multiple angles. Even if it was the case that lesser screen time = less source material, that shoot-out scene had enough frames and enough camera angles focused on Montana when he was blowing the beejezuz out of everybody to give a sculptor ample reference material to get the sculpt right.

Looking at Kang's sculpt, it is apparent that she really took the time to understand the character and get to know every facial component that contributes to Tony's mood and look. The same can't be said for EB's sculpt.

You seem to be making excuses for a poor sculpt :dunno

No excuses. I started sculpting myself and I feel that I know what I'm talking about.

No point in taking this conversation any further. We both have our own opinions and we stand by them. I always like your comments though....you're a great members of this forum.

You are making excuses. You're saying that an expressive sculpt is so much more difficult to get right than a neutral sculpt as the source material is so much more limited. I'm saying there's ample reference material available to the sculptor in this case, and I'm saying that Kang's sculpt is very expressive and she knocked it out of the park.

The white-suit Tony sculpt may indeed be awesome - we can't tell with those sunglasses on. But the dark-suit Tony's sculpt is undoubtedly not up to the same standard as BW's, not even close.

I've been 3D modeling for over ten years and I feel that I know what I'm talking about :wink1:

Like I said to Yankee, no different opinions allowed :lol

I think you'll have a hard time quoting those forum a-holes Jinroh. I think the discussion in this entire thread has been very civil :dunno

HT recently tried a smiling sculpt with DX Jack and it looked awful, yet the neutral one is absolutely stunning.

i agree that the smiling sculpt was off, but since it wasn't show at either SDCC or Ani my guess is it's scrapped or maybe being overhauled. The difference here is TM was shown at this show, not proto pics but the actual figure. Will there be any updates to it or is this it? I admire the fact that EB took a chance with the expression, its an iconic scene but the sculpt should be near perfect before showing it. I also agree with Lejuan that it limits possible poses, I don't think this figure would look right sitting in the chair, it's a one shot pose there's no way to change it monthly if you get tired of it.

He looks fantastic in this pic imo.

From what I can see it does looks really really good, but again we need to see him with the glasses off...it's a great touch though along with he accessories. If he looks good without the glasses I might have my first EB Fig.

I think it's the nose that's throwing the sculpt off. I do see a lot of Pacino in there, but something's throwing it off.

How about bigger eyes and darker pupils ? ...and a rounder chin ?
