That video is probably some major BS!!! The guy SSCs had guarding the Batmobile didn't lead me to believe he knew jack! On one day he said the '89 BM would be around the same price as the Tumbler and another day he says Keaton Bats was actually at the show but they took him out and that it would retail for around $250!?!?!

Now I don't know about you, but I can't see the Keaton Bats being half the price of the BM o_O This was the exact same guy saying this. So if that's who they talked to, they are talking out the sides of their neck...because he was just pulling ____ out his ass.

Because Sideshow reps usually talk out their asses about price. :lecture:lecture:lecture

Truth is, he would've said "I don't know" or "follow the newsletters" if he didn't have the info. Given the ever increasing cost of DX figures, around $250 wouldn't surprise me. Luke's right there anyway. Knowing HT would need to keep the price reasonable for the Batmobile, double the cost of Batman is about right.

Agreed, I like the look so much, I Photoshopped my Sovereign Batman against the Hot Wheels Batmobile when I got the figure just to see how it'd look.

Do I have the right Batman :lol

I wish HT would've made this before the 89 car :lol

When I first saw this I nearly lost it, I had a nerd attack. It makes me happy I passed on the Tumbler. This is the essential Batmobile for me. I'm just worried about the price. I'm hoping its not passed $600 but with an Iron Man figure just over $500 Ima thinking its near the $1000 mark... was there any price on the name card at comic con? I saw that Sideshow had their future stuff all priced on cards, did Hot Toys as well?

Griff

It will be very interesting to see how its priced.
Its hard to compare to the Iron Man Gantry. That thing has over 80 points of articulation and is probably the most complicated thing Hot Toys has ever built.

The Batmobile (I think) is mostly a giant single piece of plastic, right?
From reports the steering wheel doesn't even turn the wheel (which you see on cheap 1/18 models)

it was reported that the 89 Batmobile will most likely be in the $399-500 range at the very most.

There would be some seriously legendary ass spankage if those HT were mine. :lecture:lecture:lecture

I love how Batman and Superman are posed chilling out behind the car just having a talk. :lol

Wait, does it look like Superman is trying to make a move on the Dark Knight :horror

I think the kid on the right knows he's doing something wrong. :lol

That's just it...I asked several other SSCs staff the same question because I wanted to know if they would be taking preorders. He was the ONLY staff member that was spouting out prices. All the rest I asked said the price was still yet to be determined.

I've been going to the con for several years and I've never seen that guy. I just think any price determination right now is purely based on speculation and wishful thinking.

I guess the kid on the right was the first to notice the owner of those toys approaching (probably in a John Cleese Little Red Hiding Hood sort of way).

I hear ya. I still don't think he'd have opened his yap though if he didn't have info from HT. Were they there this year to help set up like last year?

The cockpit looks rather good, doesn't it? I know I'm oblivious to small details and stuff, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone pointed out just how wrong and innacurate it is. But looks good to me.

Based on photos and screengrabs cockpit looks right to me. Those little red buttons look translucent too, it would be cool if they lit up with tiny LEDs, but not a deal breaker at all. The gauges look fine as they are though. They weren't backlit at all in Batman or Batman Returns. The Batmobile cockpit reminds me of the instrument cluster of a WWII dogfighter.

Other things I notice from those shots, the side pipes seem to be molded onto that flat metal piece or at least glued to it. It doesn't look right to me, but the detail on the pipes is impressive. It even looks like there is some heat damage to them! :yess:

The front tire treads look too big and in the wrong pattern. This is not something you can easily see in the movies, so I don't think it will be a big deal to most collectors, it's just something I noticed from photos of the car. I can't see the rear threads closely enough to say if they are accurate or not. Again, not a big deal, but it is wrong. They can get the threads right (or very close) with the Tumbler and Batpod, they can do it here. Call the nitpick police! :gah:

Also, one of the specks of dust on the left gun cover is 0.00000045675 millimeters too close to the edge and rotated 0.000056243 degrees southeast of from how it appeared in the scene where he destroyed the factory. :nana:
