My second set arrived. A regular one this time. I won't get to open it until the weekend. Lets see if I got lucky twice!
Fingers crossed.
:)

Btw, has it occured to anyone of cutting the excessive black cloth part material on the insides of the suit thats staining the body?

Ive thought of double layering it with maybe tape or cloth but it may bulk him up.

Ideas?

I actually did cut out any excess black material without cutting into sewn threads, and this will definitely minimize any chance of staining. But there still are some contact between left over black material and the body.

I thought about the same thing. To put a layer over black part, but whatever you're layering with better be hair-thin, because it is such a tight body suit that any extra layer will be visible, unsightly and, as you mentioned, bulky. I even removed the white Enterbay tag inside of the suit, because it kept showing up in my photos when I take close-up shots.

I washed it in the wash machine, twice, just to make sure that all black dyes get out, but it also lightened the battle damage smudges and the foot print a little bit. I am going to have to touch it up. We'll see if it causes further staining.

Clean suit that the figure came in did not cause any stain whatsoever, but when I changed him into BD suit, it caused staining in less than 24 hours. This tells me that Enterbay is definintely capable of producing suits that don't cause staining.

Anyone else got any ideas?

3M Micropore surgical tape would work. It's very fine and sticks to anything. It's paper based so would act as a lining. Might give it a go.

Nice shots :hi5: I don't think I'll be bending my bamboo stick like that though ..... yet :D

Anyway, yeah I guess you can't expect EB to pick up the tab if the figure wasn't broken before you started fiddling with it.
I'm happy that they are even fixing/replacing for free at all :yess: I didn't want to give to many details as to why my figure ended up that way, but I was told to send it in anyway :D

:clap That's a pretty neat job you did there Axe :hi5:

Yeh, this kinda thing wouldn't normally qualify you for a replacement LL.

Enterbay simply needs to add a line to GOD instruction not to spread past x number of clicks, and problem is solved.
Probably a good idea.
You are either a newbie or delusional collector if you don't accept/understand the fact that body staining is normal and quite common with all scaled figures when the clothes are left on for a "prolonged" period of time
Yeah, that concept is too complex to digest :lol

Great job! It looks SUPER! :hi5: I was thinking about cutting out a foot print stencil, slightly smaller than the actual foot print, and carefully misting with black spray paint. But it is going to be too dark if I am not careful about how little I spray. I think I will use your brush technique to smudge/blur the edges of the foot print.

Just remember one thing, keep a piece of paper folded to bulk it up inside the suit while you put those blobs of black water... you dont want the water to seep through one side and stain the other. Also remember DROP the blob and IMMEDIATELY dab and wipe it with a clean piece of tissue/towel... that leaves a very authentic stain mimicking a dust stain

I think you should just send it back, Axe. Shipping from India to HK will probably be around 15-20usd via EMS. I think it'd be worth it, as they'll probably send you a new perfect one.

Yeah I was contemplating that too, mailed them and they asked me to send it back. I also offered to send them the exclusive black nunchucks they sent by mistake but they told me to keep it and 'shhh don't tell anyone ;P' :lol However my main gripe on shipping away the figure is that its even worse sending mail from here than recieving. All the chaps know the hassle I had to undergo to get this set in... India Post shows it reiability specially when shipping articles abroad. The last time I shipped something international was EMS'ing a fellow freak here the defective DX02 body he sold me to get the replacement... the body reached him AFTER A MONTH! Pretty tall order for EMS... Anyway I wont me mailing before monday if I do decide, chances are I will, but I really want to try repainting and saving myself the hassle... everything is a learning experience. On the other hand using a $300 figure as a test subject... :horror

I did put a thin tape over the black part of the suit and cut them exactly to fit the black lines... the bulking up isnt really noticeable on display unless you over shot the lines... however the bad thing isnt it looking bulky on display but rather the tape adhesive really doesn't adhere well to the cloth surface... atleast not my tape...

:clap That's a pretty neat job you did there Axe :hi5:

Thanks! :)

Thanks Axe! I followed your instruction and it came out quite nicely. I ended up using a Q-tip, and it did the job. I just need to do a second run to darken certain parts. Here are pictures of the suite after washing it and after repainting it. Notice how faint the foot print is after the wash. I thought the original foot print was little too small, so I made some adjustments.

:lolYep, thats what its all about man.
Again, great job my friend.:hi5:

Thanks :) Also for those who may feel brave and love to get a little adventurous and can take the risk The paints used were:

Indian Red: Base Colour (its more earthy brown than red, like terracotta clay)
Yellow Ochre: Next major
Crimson Lake: to bring the more reddish hue
Titanium white: To lighten the thing
Black: to slightly darken the result for more authentic tan to match the stock paint

Best of luck to those who want to try their luck! :)

tip: DILUTE, DROP, STAY, SOAK and all over again...

Thanks axe. Ive took note of those colours.
Did you finish it off by sealing it with a clear matte or satin paint? Thats something I still need to do for my BD terminator "repaint".
