Any Chance of a Hot Toys Muscle Body?

Even if they do release these carded, they will likely be $100 anyway. A standard, narrow shoulder TT's retail price is $50 now. A plain old TT! There is no way they let these go for $60-80. So you could expect to pay ebay prices for them anyway. Not sure it would really solve much of problem due to their potential pricetag.

It wouldn't seem that expensive if you weren't wringing out your wallet on overpriced custom pieces. :pfft:

Is the muscle body production up to date to avoid this after a time anyway?

HT is cutting down more and more on rubber use with their bodies (thank God!), so hopefully that kind of thing will be less and less frequent as time goes on. Recently they have been employing plastic arms with joints and sculpted muscles, and some flexible PVC material over the upper chest and neck.

Great, I realy hope so cause the muscle bodys come out very good.

Yeah, with the sculpted joints and the PVC torso, they're not only more poseable but more durable as well. I just wish they'd figure out a way to incorporate bicep articulation and add the double elbow joint back in (like the TTA) and they'd be perfect.

Hot Toys doesn't listen to anybody here. I'd honestly be surprised if they even come here due to the sheer level of OCD raping their products seem to get.

They will be releasing it on its own later, after the Gladiator. At Toyfair they stated that the body was created for their gladiator figure and "a certain Austrian bodybuilder."

I don't think ANY manufacturers DARE tread into these treacherous waters. Even Sideshow employees don't venture outside of the Ask Sideshow forum.

I'd be VERY surprised if ACI could afford the Schwarzenneger license.

Oh and I just now see that Shriver divorced that bum. . .well, maybe he'll need the cash and lower his asking price. :lol

Never said they were, but they heard and answered they cry of collectors looking to get their Dutch off a rubber body and I commend them wholeheartedly for that! :lecture:lecture:lecture

As for Maria, she's a ____ing hypocrite. When her family has cases of everything from infidelity to murder, she'll stand beside and support them, but when her knowingly promiscuous husband has a child-bearing affair, she gets all tittybaby over it. I guess if he'd tapped into the Kennedy abortion fund, it would've been okay? :huh

I agree.

I really just want to see this body now. if it compares to or ends up surpassing the Hot Toys one in terms of, price, availability, and articulation, you would have to be a fool to buy the HT one.

So basically their gonna make a muscle body modeled after Arnies body? Is that what your saying? If so where did you here this news?

You misread it. They're not modeling it after Arnie per say. They made the body to be used for Arnie bashes and for fans looking to get Dutch off the rubber body. It was mentioned in an interview with ACI discussing the new body at Toyfair 2011.

But, how can they afford doing an Arnie, since licensing is gonna cost them ? What Arnie are they doing ? Another dutch ? they can't top Hot toys...this is confusing...

Just messing with ya, haha :lol

I don't think they would sell em for $100. I'd pay 50-60 for them though cause I don't need all that extra gladiator stuff that I would never use and will be clogging up ebay.

Nope. And with the new muscle bodies having sculpted arms and PVC torsos, those days are over. At least for the male bodies.

These are rubber covered upper torso as well.... The PVC parts are the arms and abdomen. ABS parts are the inners and legs (on T800 these are mostly PVC too).

The ones that has PVC torso are the new Predators. BL's (DX & Icons) body is also rubber covered as well

If Hot Toys doesn't do it, someone else will. There's too many players in the game, and I doubt Hot Toys wants to lose their edge on the market. The TrueType is the go-to body right now, and I doubt they'll put that at risk.

It's like the Cold War up in here. Nobody wants to unleash a carded muscle body, because then it will kill sales on future muscular figures for ALL manufacturers. I tend to believe that this is incorrect though. There's not THAT many people customizing and kitbashing that it would affect sales THAT drastically. People will STILL buy a boxed figure. The costs of assembling a figure yourself from other parts and pieces is still much higher than a complete figure set.

Do you own the figures you're talking about? Bruce Lee, T800, Barney? I own all 3. Not rubber bud. I've even taken Barney apart to fix a loose shoulder. The chest/neck piece has more in common with a flexible PVC, like Berserker, than it does with the rubber bodies of old. You'd do better to own the product before yapping. :wink1:

Obviously Hot Toys isn't finished with rubber muscle bodies just yet, right?

I wouldn't put it past them to make that out of the same PVC that the other figures are made of. There's no mention of articulation there. Though, personally, I think their Lee bodies on the current releases are perfect.

You better have more knowledge of material science before you contradict me.

As per HT's instructions: I'm sure you'll find rubber in BL and Barney's instruction too. Upper torso: Neck/Chest/Upper Abdomen. Only rubber parts of the Predators are the dreads
