TRU is showing the masked Wolf as "preorder now".
How can that be? This figure was already released.

that's so weird, I wonder, what IF they pull something like that with the 1/4 pred, I mean, sure it sold out already, it wont happen, but, I was just imagining, what if I walked into the store tomorrow and saw him there lol

I saw about 5 unmasked and 1 masked Wolf at TRU yesterday. I sadly didn't have the money for him cause I needed a new PS3 controller so I had to pass

TRU online seems to get things in a little later than the actual stores. They still have the Resident Evil figures on pre-order, and I got them all yesterday at my TRU. Same with the Duke Nukem figure, he's out in stores, but still for pre-order on the website.

That's what I was thinking. That perhaps they don't update their website as often as they should.

Yeah, with all the gumdrops on his chest and stomache, it looks more like something that belongs on a dessert tray.

I think there's still a possibility that they might have the 18" Predator in their brick and mortars. My local TRU has a pretty big section displaying the NECA merchandise. I'm sure this will vary from store to store, however.

True....but before his new NECA there was only Hot Toys. Now that the NECA is out....Hot Toys better watch out, and step up their game significantly.

I have a few of the Hot Toys, and I now have the closed mouthed NECA. The NECA seriously blows Hot Toys out of the water!

Hot toys has stepped up their game. Look at Berserker and Falconer as opposed to the P1. And a matter of fact, look at P1 as opposed to the AVP figs. They've come a loooong way as far as sculpt and paint apps. The major issue they're facing now that NECA is threatening them on is accuracy.

NECA can't compete in the high-end market like HT, so they're relying heavily on more accurate sculpting and better paint apps. Plus, NECA is targeting the mainstream market, where-as you won't walk into a major retail store and see a HT figure sitting on their shelves. But, NECA needs to get a better manufacturer, because the end result is hit or miss with what we see in the proto pics. Granted, on their 7" figs they're squeezing a lot of good detail into them, but for instance with the 7" Berserker, those paint apps were terrible.

I get all of the HT Preds they're doing, but with NECA I'm getting the 1/4 closed mouth, the complete 7" tribe and their 2011 SDCC exclusive, and maybe the 7" P2 (definitely 1/4 P2 if they do it!! And any other 1/4 they might do).

For what NECA does, they're superb, hands down. They seem to be improving with just about every line, and I love that they're picking up and doing every Pred that hit the silver screen, and even the exclusive P1 with the Gort mask. They're hitting what the true fans have always wanted, and for that, I commend them!!!


Aaaaand, I just POed the P2 Elder, and the exclusive P1 with Gort mask!!!! Happy-dance, happy-dance!!!!

No they don't. The current price of HT preds is just over $200. Still high but I think people are forgetting that HT play no part in what their figures are selling for on ebay.

I think HT does good artist interpretations on their Preds, but NECA has put forth the extra effort in the accuracy department, which HT doesn't really seem to care about. This is what's allowing NECA to put out reasonably priced mass market lines to strongly compete with HT, which your casual fans that just per chance are walking into a retail store and seeing NECA's figs and saying "all man, those are cool", and buying them up, don't even know HT exists.

I was able to snatch a HUNK from resident evil series, I always liked that figure, and I saw it online for 48, found it today for 14,

When I called, the guy said they were on preorder like you guys said lol I wish what happened is that they have not arrived, I dont think the masked wolf would sell out like that but, the stores here dont have them

This was the cheapest I saw, so I jumped on it. Figured better now than before they're $100 or more on ebay, since people are already trying to get $60+, and it's not that close to SDCC yet.

yeah, i was wondering about that since the con is a ways off. i've never seen a 7" neca toy get anywhere near $100 though. even the exclusives. i'm not too worried about this one yet. i might be eating my words in a couple months, who knows.
