Yup, this has been my most wanted PERS figure since HT started using the system, Jack's the perfect character, Ledger Joker was also a good choice, Batman, Bruce Lee, they put it to pretty good use but I don't think they perform with their eyes quite like Ledger and Depp did.
Agreed.
I think the PERS is almost mandatory for the Joker and Jack Sparrow, but Bats and B.Lee could still be just fine without it.

Aahhh! Interesting.
I think that's probably best. I mean, how much trouble is it really to take the face/wig off. I like this system better than the joystick exposed at the back of the head.

Thanks for posting that pic.

np sounded like you guys have not seen it ;) Actually I have not even checked it out myself yet and only remember seeing this picture :p

im starting to be swayed by this figure, i only started out checking this thread out of jealously/curisiousity of how this figure could look so good compared to indy. but seriously impressed by some of these pics. wheres the best place to get this from in the uk? theyr currently unavailable on onesixthbruce and play is asking stupid money!

As long as how you get to it doesn't look obvious and the control works smoothly, I don't care too much how it's designed. I have 2 PERS figurs so far, Bats and Joker, I'm not too happy with how tight and stuck the Joker lever moves, feels like you'll break it any time you move it, Bats works very smoothly and no concern at all.

I wonder if using the wand for Bats has anything to do with it. But I have to agree with you. It's much harder to get the eyes pointed in the desired direction (and close to snapping, as you've indicated) if the joystick feels like your moving a rock from Stonehenge.

It's not now you move the control on Bats that makes it better, it just moves more easily, probably because it's the second and Joker was the first to use it and they hadn't gotten it right. I've asked before and I heard the MJ eyes moved easily as well and I'm guessing Bruce too. I'll just want to use the feature for photos as much with Jack as any character, I used it more with Batman than Joker because of not fearing breaking it.

Bruce was my first DX figure and I was more than a bit anxious about the increasing amount of force I needed to apply to that joystick to get the eyes moving. I haven't played with a great deal so not sure if the action will get smoother with use, but for the moment it's quite tight.

Batman was smooth right out of the box, and Joker got no easier with time, I think it's either loose or tight from the factory and that's it.

Interesting, so now this figure will include the rum bottle from the AWE Jack, cool for those who didin't have that figure.

Two things I love in these latest photos.

First, the paint, no surprise, looks great, the subtle specs of dirt and such on his face look great.

Secondly, He looks much better proportioned ot the original Jack, and how much nicer the white shirt looks.

Normally I'm not into dioramas or scene props, but I am excited about the wheel/rudder. I hope the nameplate is removable though.
