Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

Im actually happy it's a 1/4 statue as im sure HT would make a better 1/6 Rambo than enterbay.EB should focus more on 1/4 statues as they are superior to Sideshow's human portraits, the sculpts are not bad but the paintjob always ruins it.
They don't even come close to HT anymore, but 1/4 could open a door to success as they do have the potential to make the best Movie characters in 1/4 scale.Their 3 Bruce Lee's was impressive, the paintjob is great on their T2 too, only the hair needs some adjustments.

Looking at the egghead on Arnie, this doesn't bode well. :lol

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

Argh!!! I was expecting a 1/6 figure. That'll only mean Hot Toys does not have to match this release by Enterbay, since Hot Toys does not release 1/4, only busts.

Yup, we've lost the competitive edge, though HT could still try and show up EB, it woudl say a lot for a 1/6 to look better than a 1/4.

We still have some hope, HT, and I think even the Asian market, are fond of Sly and Rambo, and 2012 is First Blood's anniversary, so it's not a write off yet, I just wish EB was doing it so if nothing else we'd have their figure instead of none at all.

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

I will ask them about 1/6 but it may just be they have licence for 1/4.

As most of us dont know how this licence game works, having a licence may not mean you can make it into any scale, I'll see what I can dig and officially tell you guys :)

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

See if you can figure out why they made a poster with their 1/6 line name on it instead of the 1/4 scale line name too :lol since that's where all this mess came from.

Seems like they may be going for 80's action icons in 1/4 scale. Would be a sting to fans if the first official Die Hard figure were to be 1/4 and not 1/6, though most would be happy to have anything.

T2 isn't 80's. :lol

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

I was more thinking Arnold, Stallone and Willis than the specific movie chosen.

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

The poster was a scan from somewhere, by the time they picked up to go to show, it was too late.

They explained to all that it was a 1/4 at the show.
They are drafting up official release soon, so it will be HD etc etc.

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

Just hope they fix Arnie's melon. :(

Same here, I think it'll look great with a nice haircut. The clothes and body proportions look like they'll really capture his T2 look best of any collectible yet.

I do wonder with Rambo, will it be more posable like T-800, or more statue like Bruce Lee. T2 can have the ugly arms it has and be fine because he's in a long sleeve, but Rambo, even with the button shirt on in 4 had his forearms exposed at the least.

I hope there'll be an option to go with the t-shirt and machette look, since I have the HCG statue for the bow and the EB piece probably won't be capable of a nice looking bow pose anyway.

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

I'm guessing that Enterbay is testing the waters with these 1/4 T2 and Rambo figures to see if they can create a whole new market and stop competing with Hot Toys in 1/6.

And then after they complete their Bruce Lee 1/4 statue steries with GoD, even more Bruce Lee's - 1/4 poseable figures of Enter the Dragon, Fist of Fury, Game of Death, Way of the Dragon (but no Big Boss because that will of course be ignored :) )

They are not testing.... they have some others 1/4 coming..........:)

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

I think there's room for everyone to have a niche.

Sideshow could be the source for statues, Enterbay for 1/4 scale mixed media pieces, and Hot Toys for 1/6.

Re: Enterbay Real Masterpiece Rambo announced!

They seem plenty fast with announcements, it's actually delivering the item announced that seems to be their weak point.

I agree and thats seems to be how things are headed.

Yeah I wish they'd be faster with announcements...

:lecture In fact I just plain hate announcements as of late. I hate seeing any tease of any kind. You get a taste (HT's Spiderman, Superman, 1989 Batman) and then nothing for like 8 months. Gay.

I've always said, the best ever release was the Subway Shining figure. Came outta nowhere and released literally a month later. Now I don't mind waiting the typical (HT's) 3 months but anything longer is just boring and pointless imo.

:lecture:lecture On the licenses that matter to the most people (or at least the most vocal people) it seems like nothing but waiting lately.
