If you decide you want him later, you'll have no trouble getting him. Probably for less than people are paying now. That's why there's no sense of urgency for people to buy from Sideshow.

This looks absolutely atrocious. Major failure. For all those that passed on the 12" for this, I feel sorry for you. That sculpt is pure refuse, I'm sorry. Compared to Tim's work, this looks worse than Hasbro quality. In fact, it IS worse than Hasbro quality. At least the Hasbro ROTS Sidious had the facial proportions right.

12" looks not as good as the PF and i was just looking at the pics of the 12" thread right now telling myself how people can even think the likeness is better on the 12" which IMO looks not really like palpatine but some other actor with prosthetics on... You guys will se when we'll have this PF in hand and all say "wow it's amazing"! I can't wait to have it in hand, post pics and see everybody saying that! just take a look at the backstage pass 360° QTVR...

Yeah I think the ANH Han and ANH Luke are much more near it... But still both aren't a "Major" failure. But just a failure

I totally agree, BUT using a 3 3/4" figure (and a horrible one) as your example is equally foolish. Surely one of the 12" Emperors would be more comparable?

Tom was just comparing the Trevor Grove portrait to the hasbro figure simply because the guy said that it looks even worse than the hasbro figure... was kinda sarcastic in a way i guess...

I don't think so, u just will have to put it on a swiveling base... I have one bought at Ikea.. took it for the Yoda Vs Clonetrooper but I can use to place under the Throne as it arrives... painting it black before as right now it's light brown.

I have no issues with the sculpt or price. but the mixed reactions, combined with a relatively high edition size, are making me play the waiting game. I am in no rush to pay SS $50 right now.

I was wondering, would you like Sideshow to add the cane as an accessory to the PF? we could display it to the side of the throne... I think they should add that, it would be cool! (Of course they need to fix the hood too, making it longer)...

Furthermore, what I can afford is immaterial. I'm a Palpatine focus collector; I buy everything Palpatine related, and I already pre-ordered this piece--however, it is my sincere opinion that the likeness is incredibly off.

I dont understand why all the haters of this PF.
I think the sculpt is actually really good and is instantly recognizable more so than the LSB imho.
This is a PF that has been requested by collectors for years (myself included) and now we finally have it ppl are just hatin. We knew this was going to be expensive some ppl were predicting 600-700 and you all act surprised its come in at $500??? Yes i agree the hood is wrong and hope they will fix it and have emailed SS and asked them about the hood. Also we all know that SS never takes great promo pics and once we get this in hand i know it is going to be awesome.
