Ok, right, enough!

We know now that we're highly unlikely to get an improved Indy till maybe a TOD one, if this is the case then we can more than likely switch the Raiders gear onto it and have a nice Indy.

Let's wee what folk get when the figure comes out, who knows, maybe it looks better in hand. Nobody is forcing us to buy this figure. I'm bashing my own and may or may not use parts from this one depending upon whether the price is right.

If HT has put this to bed then perhaps we should now

CHEERS!

You believe in your opinions, that's great. But - for my tastes - you defend them in a way that is aggressive and condescending.

And, for the record, the scorn that you have been heaping on those who preordered, believing as you do (possibly correctly, but please, if you have independent proof I'd love to see it) that it sends the wrong message to Hot Toys and will guarantee that they will not make any changes is pretty close to calling them idiots.

It's drawing a bit of a long bow to assert that HT will accept a below par sculpt on one character in order to release another.

Based on Hasbro's and Sideshow's success (or lack of) with Indy collectibles, do you think this will be the case? It's hard to tell sales figures of HT products, especially as pre-orders, but unless Indy is a runaway success I can really see this as being a one-shot.

I'd love the chance to see Hot Toys' business plans and work flows. I wonder if they manage to get breaks on license costs by purchasing rights to images and characters rather than the whole range (eg just the right to produce Indy from ROTLA rather than any character fro the 4 films).

Well, then let me just piss in your cheerios here for a minute then, bub. In Milk, they stated that the figure had already been approved. That was published this last week. You'd think if they were reworking it, they'd offer a press release to counter the article, but so far as anybody's heard, nobody's heard anything. All the FB comments came pre-Milk release. Nothing's come after except for more pics showing HT hasn't revised a goddam thing. Are you offering any more recent updates? Evidence? An inside connection with Arnie Kim? Hot Toys? Yeah, didn't think so. So until you miraculously pull something out of your ass, I'll go with the word from the horse's mouth. And that word is that Indy's already been approved. Anything else, like your fat rant quoted above, is PURE fanboy speculation.

If we wanna check the score, I called the flubbed headsculpt when the HT fanboys were proclaiming Arnie Kim as the second coming of Jesus. I also called the ridiculous price tag of $250 while everybody else was calling me crazy and basically laughing at my claim. People aren't laughing now, are they. And they still won't be laughing when HT tries to pawn off that subpar figure we see in the pics at the highest DX price yet.

The sculpt is off he looks way too meaty in the cheeks and face and the price is ____. 199.99 ht is asking way too much at 250.00 and you don't even get an extra head for the second outfit so really plan on paying 50-60 bucks for another dx head and your at 300-310 and that's not even shipped I could have a damn tron cycle for this figure or ghost rider

Absolutely gorgeous!!!

Too bad some people have turned this thread into the ultimate crybaby whine-fest... oh the irony!!!

I love my ht but your right they are taking advantage of our wallets and like you said they know this sculp is garbage but gambits will buy it even if it sub par. People just have to admit that ht is not amazing every time out.

yeah im not happy at all with that price and not convinced with the sculpt. Im still thinking if i will buy it or not.

He says I will do, not I have done.
Once again the Head has to be approved for use in advertising, that's why we have not seen Alice yet, and why her face got covered up the second day at the Tokyo Show

I don’t get why people are pre-ordering this figure with ‘hopes’ that it’ll get better- the best way to show HT that it’s not cooked enough for you is not to tell them they have your money—honestly, I think SS collectors don’t realize that HT figures never sell out on pre-order… there’s always been reasonable time after release (even super hot releases) to pick them up. If they improve it (that’s a big IF IMO) then I’ll pick it up… as has been said; a TOD is almost a sure bet, hopefully an MM instead of PERS and muscle bodies, and it’ll probably come with an extra tuxedo outfit, which is much better than a turban and a robe, a cheap looking idol stand and a cardboard backdrop you can make yourself for a couple of dollars.

Well, that’s what I said; why buy it to secure a purchase when there’ll be more than plenty produced to be able to pick it up after release (at a better price as well, I'm betting)?
Please tell me of an instance where a HT figure has sold out on pre-order… non that I can remember and I’ve been buying from the time they only made military figures.

Ah hah, so, on reading that FB post, there may still be hope.

The more I look at the pic of Harrison in Dino's sig the less of an issue the head size becomes. Focal lengths can play a big part in the way something looks in a photo. The best focal length to shoot heads at is 120mm. If we had a pic of Harrison shot at 120mm and a pic of the HT head at the same then maybe we'd be better able to judge the likeness. Whoever said the camera never lies was lying!

Do we know if the body is the final one and not just a Royce they threw together for the show and promos!?

I'm trying to stay positive....

You should stay positive as it's not out until quarter 3.
There have been plenty of Bruce Lee DX pre-orders (Onesixthbruce has sold out his pre-order allocation for example) yet Hot Toys are still perfecting that figure.

Placed my order early and have saved a few bucks by doing so. I like what I see and if they make changes, all the better.

As for selling out at preorder, maybe not. But I'm sure those that skipped on preording Blade, Iron Man Mk 1, Wolverine and Predators wish they would have ordered earlier.

But do what you like. No one here gives one flip what you or I do or don't do or think.

None of those figures sold out before their release and if people who wanted them missed out, than it's only their own procrastinating that’s to blame.

You find it difficult to sit on the fence when debates start up, you can see what one side is saying, but, you can also see what the other is too. It gets difficult to change your mind and not seem like you're being two faced.

I usually wait till Michael Crawford and Jeff Parker get their figures and take it from there. If they recommend it then I respect what they say and consider getting it. All my best figures are ones they have given good reviews.

With February almost upon us, an announcement due out for Superman before the end of winter (mid March), HT's put Indy to bed and has Kim diligently working on the Reeve sculpt so they can have something to show the rabid fans. Matter of fact, I'm wondering if that's not why we got the sculpt we did for Indy, because Kim wanted more time to focus on Reeve. Kinda makes sense too. If the first Indy isn't up to snuff, they can make up for it since we'll likely see more of Indy (ToD and maybe even KotCS) but Reeve's Superman is pretty much a 1-shot. They ____ that up and they'll lose business... and face.

Kim's already stated that he finished his Reeve sculpt and that it was being sent to HT.
Also, look at the DX Bruce Lee for example.Bruce Lee's new improved body was shown,what?2 weeks ago,6 months after the spec+pics were revealed. This figure was just shown, there's still plenty of time for improvement before release.Don't make assumptions.
