How about re-releases of all the figures made between the first two years of HotToys? I'm sure they can update all the headsculpts and things.

No, because that makes the existing ones pretty much useless unless for retro purposes, say 15 years later

Did Sony not put out HDTV's because everyone that bought a tube TV would be upset? As techniques and materials improve an upgrade is a no brainer. To never make a more accurate P1 or any pred for that matter because an inferior product was released years ago is silly.
Rerelease No
Redo/upgrade Yes

Sure, if they can make some money on it why not. The only people who would disagree are the people who spent ~$400 on one of the past released preds anyway.

The problem with that state of mind is that you would upset the collectors that have been your bread and butter over the years, and eventually likely have issues selling your product at retail price. Then, as HT gets clogged with inventory that isnt moving, they will decide that they dont need to come out with additional A/P product until the existing stock is sold, eventually leading to LESS A/P product. McFarlane screwed himself with this mentality. Trust me on this...I get paid to work with these issues daily.

:dunno i dont care

Even though it won't happen, I'd say yes. Not for people who missed out on earlier figures, but to bump up the quality on these awesome designs. The P2 and AVP Preds with the new paint apps and sculpting skills would be absolute perfection. If only...

dont think they do. Otherwise they would not be releasing variants of the same characters.

Hot Toys would rather have the money than some guy on ebay.

It doesnt matter, Hot Toys does. I retain my opinion on this matter, and obviously HT agrees with me.

The Superman Returns, Batman Begins, TDK Batman and Joker, and various "battle-damaged" figures say otherwise.

Yes, but not only adjust them based on today's standards, but make it worth for collectors who have the other pieces to have enough differences. otherwise, aside from the usual critiques, there'll be some hatin' for doin' so... but lovin from those who missed out.

Hot Toys is not Sony, and TVs are not collectibles. The technology analogy advancement argument is weak and almost irrelevant because the products are very different. The only relationship here is that Hot Toys figures are getting better and better, as seen by the newer releases; no argument there. But bottom-line is that re-release is ok only if there is a legitimate reason (new movie portraying same or "updated" character).

Well DX is another story. The original debate was on simply rereleasing old preds. If they actually make a DX predator it would not be the same as saying they are rereleasing the old preds.

The only reason i can logically think of people on here moaning about re-releasing HT Predators (especially AVP) are the ones who paid stupid money for them years after release. Or they want to feel superior by owning them when other newcomers like me dont have them they can feel superior. The attitude of " well if you dont own one or want to pay though the nose for it means u dont love it as much as we do " is total bull____. If they really loved the Predator franchise they would want a pre-assembled, modern day packed style, accurate face sculpt and figure base modern update of the original AVP HT figures to put WITH their existing figures. Its not like if they made new figures HT would run into your house and smash up your original figures with a baseball bat. The attitude of "no" is a selfish answer to this.

Cool opinion, and way to indirectly call everybody who says "no" selfish.
