Hey, that Captain Teague is not bad at all.

Not necessarily "bad" just vastly different than the Proto. Doesn't even look like the same head sculpt to me. I guess the point is, anyone expecting ANY figure to look exactly like the prototype is in for some kind of disappointment. Some companies are better with Proto/Actual Products like HT (but even they make some drastic WTF changes sometimes) and some companies are worse like NECA who routinely release to-good-to-be-true Proto pics.

It is what is it is. Not much anyone can do but wait until in-hand pics surface so we can all see how it turns out.

I agree, but as ElderPred stated above, the last pic we got of the Pred was a 'factory deco' piece...which is meant to show off the factory's paint app abilities.

I think I've figured it out. NECA is gonna make the first Predator awesome which will cost them more, but they won't care. Because they are gonna take no profit on this first piece to get us hooked and then BAM, the second piece will continue to be awesome and the price will be $140 each

I understand desperate kiddies without brain like Fartbox really..... but its too late

Overall, i say it again OVERALL = Terrible.
Face-Sculpt OFF and Body Propotions of a 5 year old kid in a costume.DISASTER !

This figure has nothing in common with the film.

Nice Joints, muhahahhahhahaa !

The NECA beat easily the SS with the 18" ! The PAINT on the SS looks like ____ (the brown, hehe) and NECA have the much better sculpt.

The Paint-Job on the SS is cheaper than MEZZCO, totally wrong colour. Look at the chest or the hand;: PFUI !!!!

All it shows (if anything since you can't really see much detail anyways) is the factory paint apps for a single figure. There's no way to tell how these will turn out once they're mass produced.

Who knows.. maybe NECA has fixed all the problems they've had in the past and are moving in a new direction. Like I said.. we'll see.

I don't think they're moving in a new direction, just pushing for better than average with this figure, which is fine. Tankman's always said the Predators are costlier, they probably just want this thing to be top notch for the effort of making it. Even if this turns out like that shot, I wouldn't expect the entire offering of NECA to scale up in quality, if anything, I could see the factory slacking off on some figures after this out of spite.

tankman, who get's to keep all the test figures and the final painted version? Do you as the sculptor or does NECA keep them in storage?

I'm kind of free to take things I want here and there. We've got two painted test shots here in NJ and I've taken one of them over.

I like that heman figure. It's like a nice throwback to the old toys. I have no idea where it came from, but it's pretty nice. If any of you missed it, I'm sure it'll come around again real soon.
