From what I've read, George got inspired after watching Avatar and the Indy moves are being remastered in 3D to be rereleased at the cinemas.

Another format for him to cash in on! :panic:

Can't say I wouldn't love to see those in 3D though of course :slap

Ugh... In my opinion they should leave the classics be as they are. Films like the Indy series were the classics of their time and have kept their value over the years.
Cashing in on them again by remastering them to 3D is just lame IMO... But then again it's Lucas isn't it... these days the man only seems to cash in on the raping of old successes instead of making something original...

Remastered in 3D, what a complete waste of time. Either go back and shoot the whole thing using the right gear or don't bother. This man lost the plot with Jar Jar and evidently is yet to recover it.

Lame. 3D is a novelty at best, adds nothing to the actual movies.

I'm not saying I want GL to alter the Indy movies in any way, I don't think 3D counts as changing the film. I see it as experiencing the original films we love so much in a way we never have before...what's wrong with that? :dunno

Stop bumping this thread unless you're posting pics of the DX Indy:lol

Dude, I hope they knocked this one out of the park - once revisions are shown

I really want a badass looking Hot Toys Indy....hell, they could actually sculpt a decent Dr. René Belloq, unlike Sideshow

Because it's crap 3D that's why. Instead of shooting scenes with a 3D camera, it'll all be done post-production. The difference in the film experience is the former (a la Avatar) provides a genuine feeling of depth throughout every scene element while the latter (a la Alice in Wonderland) looks like a pop-up book.

We're being sold a dodgy product so George Lucas can line his pockets by rehashing a masterpiece that should be left alone. Oh well, what else is new... I suppose we can expect to see Han Solo shooting second in glorious half-baked 3D in the next season or two.

As much as I think Star Wars is the perfect vessel for 3D, I do agree that the poor films should be left alone already.

Want 3D Star Wars, make another damn movie. You don't need to do a trilogy every time.

I don't care if if the movies don't take full advantage of 3D and match up to today's "shot for 3D" films. It will still be a new way of watching the Indy movies which, after watching them on vhs and DVD more times than I care to count, is very welcome. Bring on the "pop-up book" Indy trilogy I say, if I don't like it I'll continue watching them in the old format. As long as he's not changing the content of them film I'm fine.

Agreed.
Although I have to admit he is milking it.
