I actually think the Sideshow Vader is about as awesome looking a figure of that character as I could imagine. HT would give him a better body of course, and maybe use higher quality material for the suit, but I'm not sure about that.

Hot toys would also make there one light up i'd imagine..and have the removable mask like the medi had.

I'm sure the helmet/dome will be done better. Either way, if there's a HT Vader, it will be a highly anticipated figure and done very well, likely.

Well, Hot Toys isn't always known for its accuracy. Extremely highly detailed, extremely high quality figures with great paint apps and sculpts? Heck yeah! Accurate designs? Well, look no further than ALIEN, or just about any Predator they have done. Doesn't bother me with the monsters, but then, I'm not bothered by whatever inaccuracies Sideshow Vader might have.

Katos work is great no doubt but i think HT will nail this one. I just hope they go all out on the whip and actually make it braided and not cheap out like SS did.

I'll get a HT Indy (no question) and possibly a second one if they release a muscle Indy from ToD... but beyond that with HT prices it'll have to be a realllllllly spectacular character for me to pull the trigger.

Alright, just read this whole thread. A few things--I hafta agreed this will be round the $200 mark. DX + Lucas = $$$ I don't have a problem with that, considering that we're essentially getting 2 whole figures--that's the value of a deluxe version. I don't think we'll see a large accessory like the ark over a second set of clothes (Map Room or German Officer). I just picked up a 1/6 PF Indy head, but I think I will still go through with the custom--make it a ToD Indy with SS parts.
