So October for sure. I hope I live through my tonsilectomy! Having the op on the 20th of this month. :monkey2

Man, what a way to go. Could you imagine that?

A-dev's cause of death: Tonsillectomy procedure

Not very epic man.

Feckin chap I was talking to at work put the _____s into me about it, he said they prefer not to do a tonsilectomy on an adult because of the increased risk of complications.

And I don't dare google it.

You should be fine. Complications with the surgery is common in adults, but that's because risks increase with age. You can't be much older than I am so you should be good.

Hoped for complication if there has to be one - throat extra sore!
Very much not hoped for complications - vital artery severed during surgery! Patient drowning in own blood!

You should be fine. Just hope you don't wake up with your underwear turned inside out. :horror

Thanks for the assurances chaps. The doc told me its going to be ____ing agony about 5 days after the operation, the first few days will lull me into a false sense of security that it was all just a breeze and then, then it starts. It sure would be nice if the T-1000 would arrive that week.

Best of luck, A-Dev.
Not only for your OP, but also that you get a little easy through arrival of your T-1000.
Remember having something similar as my knee was operated and I waited for my Deluxe Box Spawn vs. Urizen and Mandarin Spawn.
They came right on schedule, so I bet will yours.
Hang tight, Buddy.

Thanks a lot lads. Although I have doubts the T-1000 will arrive to me that week, it might arrive at Toys2 alright but I'd say I'll be back to work by the time I have him.

Wow A-Dev. Good luck but I am sure you don't need that as all will work out just fine and you will be back here in no time
:borg:

Good luck A-Dev, just think about all the free ice cream :monkey1

Dammit I read that ice cream is a no-no. It builds up mucus which is apparently not a pleasant feeling on the wounds or when you try to clear it whilst having the worst sore throat of your life. In fact it seems like theres a good chance I'll be able to eat bugger all - I hope I at least lose the extra bit of weight on the stomach!

Thanks Geil. Unless something goes terribly wrong I'm sure being on this forum is about the only thing I'll be doing for the next week after the op!

Anyway, I shant go on about it anymore lest the thread have to be renamed "T-1000s and Tonsilectomies".

Good luck with the procedure! Never fun getting stuff like this done, but I'm sure the benefits far outweigh the small risks involved.

:lol ..when i first seen this post i belived you were on the subject of a customizing job on the t1000 ..i scrolled up a bit 2 see you were actually refering to A-devs op:lol:slap

good luck a-dev hope it all goes well. are you getting this done because in the back of your tonsils there are those white balls that when you cough them out and squeeze them they smell really bad?

Thanks chaps. I'll PM you Quiggle, I don't want the thread to stay so spectacularly off-topic! :lol

edit- Huh, I can't seem to send you a pm.

Well yes tonsil stones is what they're called. I think its a general term for that crap that gets stuck in the 'crypts' of your throat and the bad breath that results from it. Its one of the reasons, the others being very frequent throat infections, constant phlegm all year long and snoring.
