If people are willing to pay it, a price is never too high. Personally, I couldn't justify to myself getting one of these, but that doesn't mean those who are willing and able to get one are in the wrong. If only 5 are being produced, I'd say the price is just about right. Obviously Bobby's heart and soul is going into these.

This entire hobby is a vice, or an indulgence. Be it $1 or $1000, the money we spend could probably be better spent elsewhere. If you can buy what you want without putting yourself or your family in a bind, go for it. I wish I could have reserved one of these, but occasionally I discover that as much as I love the hobby, I have limits. That doesn't mean I'm mad at or jealous of the people who don't.

in ANY industry a person/artist has to EARN THEIR PLACE. over a period of time a person gets recognition for a gift or talent. they get a fan base , admiration, and they become worth more. bobby has done this. to tell him his prices are too high is like telling a great actor like clint eastwood (whos has earned his place) that he makes too much money per film.
this is bobbys thread and i think he deserves a little more respect.

Just saw this thread now...holy crap Bobby, great work ! Can't wait to see the finished product. You're an incredible talent and I can't wait to get some of your pieces. Already have the Bruce Lee on PO and looking forward to more stuff. The Joker is my favourite character of all times and hoping to own one of yours (hopefully a 1/3 and 1:1 bust). No problem Nygma, here is the thing I will explain it again, what I'm doing is for everyone, not just 5 people, My goal is to go to the companies and teach them how this is done in a possibly faster way.
this way everyone can get a extremely realistic head for the same price..
This is the goal.
I was ignored already By CM and Hot toys, I offered to do the Reeve sculpt for both companies with no response. Trust me I do not get rich from this, can hardly pay my bills now.
My end goal is to leave a mark on the collecting world.
so we will see what happens.
In the meantime I will get some more pictures together as soon as the eyes come in.

So lets say Hot Toys accept your sculpt and methods and implements it on their joker, and made it available at $175USD, wouldnt that kinda sting the others who bought the sculpt directly from you?

Its really noble for you to share your methods etc, but IMO it wouldnt be fair for those who bought the limited heads from you, fearing that HT would eventually release the same sculpt at a lesser price.

Certainly your expertise with Hot Toys would be great for more than one way (for them and for us).
What I'm going to say may seem stupid, but if a petition of thousands of your fans and however Hot Toys's customers can facilitate entry in this company, I am ready to sign immediately.

I would argue that the difference would like being getting an original painting from an artist as opposed to getting a mass produced print of the same painting. The original would always be more valuable and desirable.

Hydeous, not the Joker, future projects. the Joker is for the guys that supported me doing this.
I do not plan on doing these all the time especially after all the commotion , If I do it will be again for a few people , although they are small for one guy with allot on my table it is a ton of work and very long hours.
next one is reeve and a zod, maybe I will stop there, maybe not , not sure.
