Didn't have much time playing with the figure, but here is a quick first impression on the 30 mins I have messing with it, it has some goods & bads.

- Awesome package with magnet cover, fake BAD vinyl and foam trays (but need to be delicate handling them, or you can tear some glue) that are very attractive and makes it very easy to take out the figure & accessories or putting them back. You don't feel like you have to make some effort to store or take out stuff. Probably my favorite HT package so far.

- Head sculpt is as good as most good pics we've seen. Michael looks great on likeness at certain angle but not always. While less Asian eye than the prototype make up suggested, the eyes' shapes are a bit off on likeness, and not enough eye line/ make up. A little paint touch up can help. The PERS though work great. You get good expressions on the eyes and they even painted in a little blood vains. Iris is reflective, and looks really nice when it catches light at an angle (almost like tin foil). The face paint is decent (not as breathe taking as T-800), and the brown on the lips made MJ look a bit dead, when compare to live photos.

- Outfit is my biggest gripe. Detail they may seem, but most of the buckles on jacket is non-functional. Zippers are fake ones, and there are a lot of messy threats I need to snip off. Jacket is way too form fitting (when the real one is baggy) which makes the shoulder and collar bunch up way too easy when posing. And the tight jacket is so tight, you'll have a hard time moving up MJ's shoulders/arms. Mine already have frayed stitching (made a small hole) on one shoulder trying to move MJ's arm. Knowing HT's stuff with a number of previous releases and military figures, they almost always have functional buckles and zippers. the T-800 even raised the bar on the leather jacket, which is jaw dropping. So kind of felt like they cut corners on MJ's jacket, with it being one size too small, messy sewing, and no functioning bits. I was so down on displaying the jacket look, but now, I think I'll eventually take it off.

- Sucky ankle joints. They are very poseable, which is great pulling off MJ moves. BUT, they are very loose. MJ will fall with a slightest touch and gets off balance, as the ankle joints have very little tolerance on the figure's weight. When many of the other smaller companies can make cheaper figures that stands very well with great poseability on the ankles, I don't see why HT being the 12" big daddy can't get this right, especially on a DX.

Overall, its still a good figure, from what I can see. While the jacket is a let down to me, it does have nice sculpted accessories throughout on the belts, shoes, gloves...etc. Hair attached with a strong magnet, poseability is very good (when the jacket is off). Its a nice figure with awesome packaging. But didn't get the jaw-dropping feeling from some of their earlier stuff, military stuff, or the T-800 that they recently released. Hope I find more good stuff on it as I spend more time fiddling it more.

Would anyone else who is also currently an owner care to respond? It's sometimes possible with joints that you just got the short end of the stick and they're not all like this. Same probably goes with the jacket. The belts and zippers functionality is not a huge concern to me, as much as the threading will be. It also concerns me that the pose-ability is limited by the tight fitting jacket. I won't be doing much high raised arm poses, but it's good to know.

When compared to the T-800, I'm with you in the thought that the paint apps and overall look and functionality of the jacket should be better.

My only hopes is that not every figure is the same with the joint/threading issues. I should be getting mine next week, but I'd like to hear a perspective from a current owner.

How dare he post a review in this thread without any pics:mad: ..everyone who gets this should post pictures..this thread needs a bit of life!:gah:
And if you don't have a camera..you can afford one if you collect hot toys.:)

..i kid i kid :lol ..but still seriously ..come on people!!:dunno

I didn't realize T-800's jacket had functioning zippers... I didn't want to mess with them in fear of breaking something.

Yeah, T-800's zippers are functional, as well as many HT zippers from a few years back. So very surprised that they just used some silver painted rubber strips for MJ.

As for the ankle ball joints, mine are evenly loose on both legs. They are not so loose that they dangle around or anything. But they are loose enough to let the figure fall very easy. I hate to use stands for my 12", but MJ will most likely need one, unless I manage to strengthen the ankle double ball joints to make them much tighter. We'll see. The Dark Knight & T-800 I have has tighter ankles (no worries on falling), but they don't have the movement range MJ's has. If only the ball & sockets are tighter, this would be a very nice setup, since MJ CAN pull off some good moves with that wide range ankle.

Tight jacket?:cuckoo: I had no problem posing him, it looks tight but actually not so, poseability is much greater than T-800 and stand is not needed in my case.:pfft:

Any tips on loosen up the shoulder area on the jacket? I simply can't raise the left arm up at all, and frayed a stitch trying. The right arm a bit better, but still can't move as much as my others. MJ can't do a gun pointing pose like my T-800 for sure with his jacket. So if you got some tips, I can try it when I get home tonight. Really appreciate it.

Just got him this morning!(will post pics when my camera has charged) ..what a stunning piece, and he ain't so pale looking in person ..
poseability is limited a bit in the arms when the jackets one but overall he poses well..and he can stand by himself..ankles are fine:) ..His main belt came undone and i'm having a nightmare trying to put it back on.....

Here are some pics ..don't worry yaul my video will come soon.:)

Spent more time with the figure last night. Jacket is still very tight on the shoulders even though I took it off and smoothed out any wrinkles and bunching up fabric on the under shirt. Couldn't make it work with the posing I want from MJ, so decided to keep it off from now on. Also did some small touch up, giving MJ more lashes, re-shaped his eyebrows to look more like the Bad cover and posters, and touched up his side burns. Due to the PERS, can't really do much painting to re-shape the eyes like other static eyes to improve on likeness. But even though the change is subtle, it cures the Asian eye and helped a bit on likeness. I like it more now. :) Also, for my loose ankle joints, I managed to fix them with adding a few layers of thin food wrap wrapping each ball before placing back into the sockets, giving the balls more friction and a tighter fit. Now, my MJ can stand in the above pose without any assist, and won't fall even if I push it with my finger. Can't do that before.

A couple things to watch out for on this figure:

- Wrist 'sock'. MJ has a thin fake leather black sleeves that sits inside the rubber 'gaunlet' and covering wrist the ball joint with a small hole letting the ball joint peg exposed, connecting the hand. That 'sock' is made with very delicate material, and is very easy to rip on the sewing with a little pull. It doesn't tolerate stress like normal fabric (unlike the shirt, pants, or socks on ankle). When changing hands, be very careful with that piece. What you want to do when changing the hands is keeping the ball joint attached on the arm, when removing the hands. So you don't have to take out or re-insert the gaunlet & 'sock' and the ball joints by accident. A bit of vaseline or chapsticks on the tip of the small ball joint peg (that goes into the hands) helps make the removing easier. Or you can just use Xacto knife to shave off just a tad of the peg, to reduce the 'bite' or friction when removing a hand. Otherwise, you'll see wear and ripping very soon on those 'socks', due to the hard pulling everytime you change the hands. However, if you have an extra pair of black wrist ball joints (HT Batman) lying around, that would be even better, eliminating the 'sock' altogether, while not having a flesh tone gap exposed on the wrist.

- Watch out for those eyelets (those tiny silver rivet holes) on the straps. They are not that secured on the strap and not glued in place. So make sure you don't pull or scrape the straps too hard, or those eyelets will come off from the tiny hole its hugging onto and get lost. My Jacket came missing one out of the box, and noticed a few wants to come off when fiddling with the figure. But you can push it back in place and get it sits well in the holes of the straps. Just that when things are so tiny, they are very delicate.

For those that still waiting, hope you guys will get yours soon. While it didn't drop my jaws, its still a very nice figure, and I am glad that I've bought it.

"Who's Bad?!!!"

The must upper belt looks so high...on older pictures it looked much better, strange. I definitely will be displaying it with the jacket on though. And to me it remains strange how it looks so different on other pictures, it sure looks very good but not as 'accurate' as other pics, is that difference really only because of lighting and cameraview?

Don't worry about the waist belts, if that is what you are refering to. They can be moved around, raised or lowered freely. Though there are 5 of them total, so they can take up some space, and the top one is pretty thick. I probably just didn't fix it enough when I took those 2 pics (was on a rush before getting to work). As you pose the legs, the thighs tend to push them up a bit after a while. So you have to pull them down once in a while, which I forgot to do. :p

I'm debating on selling my Thriller version when I get this one. I really don't need two Michaels.

Nice!! This better be a more reasonable price since the outfit isn't nearly as complicated.

I didn't realize they had the Tron license either. Hope the new movie is good.

Smooth Criminal totally confirmed!!!

I asked:
Eddie is it 100% confirmed all these new Licenses? The Expendables ,Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal, Biohazard Afterlife, Spider-Man 3, TRON Legacy ?

All confirmed ???

Eddie:
Yes.

Bear with me, choosing and rendering images.

As usual, feel free to post my images around. All I ask for in return is link back to my site.

Thanks.
