I dunno. It looks okay. Doesn't blow me away. The think both (Obi PF & 1/6) sculpts look much better compared to this. Paint application could've ruined a great sculpt or maybe alot of you are right with the jaw line needing to be more squared.

It looks more like an 80 year old Ewan McGregor than a 70 year old Alec Guinness.

:dunno

I was very much anticipating this, but I'll have to pass. Shame.

ordered mine. I am a completist :) Will look at it more next week at SDCC.

A completist of what? LSBs? Obi-Wan? All "Star Wars"? Bad likenesses?

In all seriousness, no one should feel obliged to be a completist anymore. Take off the shackles and set yourself free. Trust me, it's refreshing and actually makes the hobby more enjoyable. :lecture

its only the second LSB from SW right? And the first in this style? pretty easy to break the completist shackles when they haven't even been set yet. better do it now.

Just watched the BSP on this. The piece looks pretty good overall. I think Matt did a solid job on it.

I have to agree. It looks pretty fantastic. Not sure where all the hate is coming from... There is really no doubt who this is supposed to be and way the bust is fused with the base is pretty cool. Plus, anybody who says the 1/4 piece has a better likeness is cracked out on meth...

It looks way better in the video. But I still think the sculpted likeness is off at around the eyes and chin, though the paint job could be to blame. He doesn't look like he's toughed it out under the twin suns for two decades.

I love the concept of this line, and hope they reveal more characters because this is the best format to showcase human characters in pure sculpt. Life size would need real hair, silicone skin, glass eyes to look convincing.

Call me a meth addict all you want, but I honestly don't think this this bust has a very good likeness of Alec Guinness. The 1/6 figure certainly bests it, and quite easily so. And, yes, count me among those who also thinks the PF looks more like Sir Alec.

Looks like my 1:1 Obi-Wan bust by Howard is not likely to be replaced anytime soon. Which is fine, 'cause it rocks.

I don't disagree that that the 1/6 figure is the best representation to date. I would like to see a picture of your Howard S 1:1.

Looks like someone took a giant bite out of the left side.

Doesn't look complete. Don't like how that is displayed.

Is that the standard we're going for now?

The 1/4 is a more stylized likeness, but I do prefer it to this. Of course, the 1/6 is the best ever as has been mentioned. I think one reason that Sideshow has stayed away from busts of humans is that likenesses are very subjective, and very small things can ruin a likeness for many people. This is definitely a very well sculpted piece. But the likeness is everything on a piece like this, and this doesn't do it for me.

I know I will get shot for this, but I don't think the Howard S bust is much better than this bust.

I love Howard but his Obi is one of his earlier busts and just not up to par anymore.

I do enjoy the hobby. I dont complain when I dont get an exclusives. I will track it down somehow. When I said I am a completist, that means if I collect SW PF, then I will get them all(which I have all). I like LSB. I collect the Marvel ones and wished they make for SW. Now they do so I will get them. I think with any products, some will like and some will not. I have been collecting for a very long time and have a huge collection. I started out with figures and then GG stuffs and then SS stuffs. I do like the high end collectibles because they have that museum quality to it. It's an expensive hobby for sure but I am lucky enough to be able to buy what I like so far. I do understand there are collectors with limited budget and cant buy them all so they have to pick and choose. I respect that.

For those unaware, here is the Howard S bust in it's raw form.
