Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF? Order NOW through the banner!.

Ordered and will keep it. If I don't like it it shouldn't be a big deal to take to the statue underneath and do a repose. I want something like the weta piece or this scene from the movie. With all the cloth it is not like it will matter if the sculpt is a train wreck underneath...

Yep, if it looks like crap in person, I will have mine customized to my liking as well.

It looks like all three of us will be "arts & crafting" later this year then... :hi5:

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF? Order NOW through the banner!.

I don't like it

The pose looks like he's dancing to Chubby Checker.
The Flaming sword effect on the EX looks horrible too.

Sorry Sideshow, but I will gladly stick with my Weta-Sideshow Statue

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF? Order NOW through the banner!.

Ordered the exclusive. The flame sword can stay in the box if it's that bad :dunno

And what a turn up. Praise for WETA not being challenged!!! :monkey3

:lol

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF? Order NOW through the banner!.

Since Sideshow decided to go with the flaming sword exclusive they could've at least taken a few notes from Toybiz, which is actually way better. :lol

EX. ordered and I'm keeping it as-is.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

What's done is done. I can't think of any major tweak that SSC has ever done to a PF after it was previewed. If you don't like it there are certainly alternatives available (SSW, Toy Biz toys, etc.) Personally I think the PF blows away all other previous full size Morgul Lord collectibles, including Weta. I can't wait to have it in hand.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

I ordered the Ex. I was going to go for the regular originally, but I was thinking that the extra hand/sword might come in handy for customizing.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

I think it's a missed opportunity.

-The great look of the metal on fabric is overshadowed by the convoluted pose.

That photo of the Morgul Lord with outstretched arms holding the flail in one hand and the sword in the other is THE iconic pose and should have been the one selected.

The fact that the piece is fairly light does provide some indication that the majority of the weight will be found in the base and that the body may be of plastic, allowing one to "tweak" the pose somewhat. I'm just not sure how many are ready to go at a $300 statue with a hacksaw and risk damaging it beyond repair.

While the new Aragorn Maquette appears to be the new "King of the Hill" as far as Aragorn statues go, the SS/Weta ML statue will remain the definitive representation of the Morgul Lord.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

Just ordered the regular through Alter Ego for 260.99. I still think this will look nice in person, but I am going to add a couple of comments to the above thread. My only concern is that the sword seems a little small for the figure.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

i will wait to see if the pose is fixed before i order it. looks great except for the wonky pose.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

this might work. totally unrelated in time and space but ... if aragorn PF had his head looking up it would work well too ... i think ML needs to 'react' with another 'good guy' though otherwise this pose and statue are lost.

Re: Witch-king / Lord of the Nazgul PF! Order NOW through the banner!.

I really dislike this PF, looks bad, i guess i may be in the minority.

The sword with the flame looks real cheesy, something from a toy store.

am definitely passing on this one.

That pic show the back of their head tho' if you turn them around the mace will not be seen on a shelf. It may do better in a 360 view.

If you want reaction stick with 12 inch figures. :lecture

Had the paint app's of the SSW been as good as the sculpt itself I might agree with you. Unfortunately, by Weta's standards they were fair at best...so I'll stick with my belief that the LSB is the definitive representation so far.
