I can just imagine JEJ voice as GB put his bust up on dispay in his room looking over all his other stuff, "You're all mine now!"

Well done Darth Vader pieces really have the ability to bring a presence to a display. I couldn't believe when I got the 1/6 just how beyond other 1/6 figures he seemed, and yet, I have stuff with more going on to their costumes or more engineering, but Vader standing there just has a huge impact. Same with this bust, you look at GB's wide collection shots with the bust in that corner and the bust is the most commanding presence there.

Instead of cancelling all waitlist orders, why doesn't SS simply say the item is sold out? It appears as if those fans who have had their waitlist order cancelled are just popping right back on the waitlist.

I can't seem to bring myself to commit to buying the reg if I have to keep the mask or head in the box, undisplayed.
What a skimanic shame.

My waitlist for the exclusive was canceled by Sideshow, so it looks like the only way to go on this is the regular.

I wish I'd ordered the exclusive when he went up at SDCC, but I just couldn't get over that deposit not knowing what the final piece would look like. I'd rather have a cancellation fee rather than putting up a deposit that far in advance.

Many of us felt the same way... My thinking is that SS really blew it by not offering the stand for both the reg and the ex. The Ex collectors would have been content with a print and a lower edition run. I'm betting far more regs would have sold had it featured the stand as well. Marketing a piece where fabulous parts like the mask and helmet may have to remain stored in the box due to an inability to properly display them makes no sense whatsoever. What an utter waste.

Yeah, the deposit really forced you to commit to this thing, but for me the $250 loss if it turned out bad was worth the risk of securing it from the get go if it came out fine.

I wish I'd done that, but I find my lack of faith disturbing. :cuckoo:

If I hadn't been wanting Vader to be done in the 1:1 line for 3 years, I probably would have hesitated, but I was so excited I just hit the button.

My thinking is that if Sideshow's faith in the product was stronger, they wouldn't feel compelled to ask for a deposit to begin with.

:D

Oh well. Lessons learned all around on this one. I wonder what would be a reasonable time to expect to see custom stands make the rounds? That might just be the only way I might bite.

I still wish I knew if an eFX or MR stand would work since people are saying the mask and helmet are fiberglass.

I wouldn't know. However, over at the replica prop forum, there have been numerous requests for custom stands. However, nothing has yet popped up.

Those guys need to get busy. :tap

I don't even care if it's not modeled after the Sideshow stand. I would just like a safe way to display the mask and dome when I have the Shaw sculpt on.

I would not have bought the exclusive if a print was the exclusive item. I think prints for exclusives are garbage and do not buy items that have prints as the exclusive as I can get the regular for much less than what sideshow is selling them. The stand to me is a perfect exclusive and people who were afraid to hit the buy button on the exclusive when it was released because of fear this would not turn out well remember that they have a 30 day return policy if you were unsatisfied with the quality or workmanship you could return it for a full refund (minus shipping costs)
