Antarctica makes a little sense though in AVP. It's a manhood trial so the elders want to put the young Preds in a situation they are not used too. To put them out of their element y'know.

you just made all that stuff up in your head.

they went there because Paul Anderson wanted to use the same location from Lovecraft's 'At the Mountains of Madness'.
...and because he had a limited budget and 6 months to shoot/edit the movie and you can't do that in a jungle.

I dont quite like the idea of the artic...but it sure was a better way to preserve the continutity for the Alien flick, then AvP- Re ctum did.

That is how I accept the fact that AvP was set in the arctic.

Otherwise, it makes no sense why they're there.

Even though it's explained in the film that the area used to be tropical or something...didn't it?

It never made sense why they were there in the first place. I mean, the story is kinda cool, Predators helped us....but still.

um...I merely gave a reason that could maybe explain why it was set in the arctic. It was only my opinion. Jeezus, unclench dude.

I like to think inside franchise too.
And for me, it´s no excuse that the budget was low.
I kinda enjoyed the first flick and I enjoyed the parts where it was in the past and the predators got overrun by aliens and the fact that there´s a rite of passage.

And, even it´s decades apart, predator was shot in the jungle too and cgi became cheap these days. I think they could´ve done it AND...

WITH LESS HUMANS!!!

BBTS has these pics up for there pre-order. The first one look like the P1. Maybe??

NECA make one great figure in a great 18inch size from the first Movie.

Show again class with this Predator , as in the past with figures like; Pinhead 18" - The Crow 18" - Alien 18" - Spaulding 18" - Jason & Freddy & Myers 18" and many more.

8inch is a a kiddie-size, insult for the character

In the last time i got the impression Neca wanna end like Mcfarlane, sry :slap

I'm with you selektiv. I'd like to see NECA make an 18" or larger original Predator.

I'm not sure they will though. In the past, 18" figure sales have been less than great. In addition, I heard the cost of making an 18" predator could be more than other 18 inch figures.

I hope they can figure out a way to make it happen.

Yeah, I believe Tankman commented that the Predator figures are more costly to produce for NECA than other characters, not entirely sure why, maybe it's the dreads or the netting, the rest seems pretty much like any other figure of theirs, but I'm not surprised to hear that either.
