Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

In the Line of Fire -- 9/10 -- the best Secret Service movie out there. Liked The Sentinel and Vantage Point ... but ITLOF was simply fantastic.

Lord of War -- 6/10 ... eh. It was OK. I'm not sure the filmmakers knew what there were going for here. It was a weird mix of a serious movie about arms trading, and a somewhat lighthearted "Burn Notice"-like narration by Nick Cage. If you're casting for a serious analysis of illegal arms trading ... why Nick Cage? If you're going for a lighthearted arms-trading movie ... why all the serious melodramatic stuff? Ended up with a cliche'd blaming of all the 3rd-world's problems on the West. But, there were some cool weapons in there.

I'll need to pick that one up, as well as the Carpenter remake. Two awesome films :rock

I was talking about the Carpenter version (not a remake - both films are based off a novella, two different takes on original story). The original was over 50 years ago, not 25!

The original is an crappy flick, even compared to other B movies of the era. But Carpenter created a masterpiece by remaining a bit truer to the original story.

Die another day. This was on TV last night. As the 20th bond movie you'd think they would want to make it special. It sucks major ass. The acting is beyond cheese and the effects were laughable. 2/10

I'd agree on the Dawn of the Dead remake - it was one of those occasions where they did a good job with the update.

Smokin' Aces 8/10

I actually enjoyed this...lots of action and a nice twist at the end.

Brought to you by a Lazy Sunday :D:

Life: 8/10

Underworld: 7.5/10

Resident Evil: 7.5/10

The Bourne Identity: 9/10

Yeah...it was awesome!!! I loved how ruthless they would kill the zombies! :rock

But I think it lacked a little in story.

All in all ...i think it was a fun movie!

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Aww, come on. The 1978 Dawn of the Dead is a classic, but as far as remakes go, I think the 2004 film was actually okay. Like, maybe a 7/10 or something.

Dawn (2004) 6.5/10 On its own merits it is a watchable horror movie.

Dawn (1978) 9.5/10 Easily my favorite zombie movie. I have never cared about characters in a horror movie as much as I did in that film. Plus I like the effects better. Yes the blood was almost pink and the zombie makeup was basically just gray paint, but Romero wasn't afraid to let the camera linger on the most grizzly stuff. And all of Romero's gut ripping scenes blow the new zombie movies out of the water. Real pig intestines and plenty of time to look at 'em. Also the apartment basement scenes is one of the most disturbing moments in zombie history.

Also, Romero's Dawn is thick with social commentary, which I love.

Oh yeah, and I hate the CG baby in Dawn (2004).

And, running zombies just aren't the same. :( I love them in 28 days later, but the don't belong in anything connected to Romero's name imo.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I honestlty feel if they hadn't put the baby in Dawn, it would be a 8/10 for me, but with it, like a 6/10. Its just that retarded. Its the Indy hopping in a fridge moment, even in a zombie movie.

As it stands, I like Day way better then the original Dawn, could never really get that into Dawn or either version of Night. Though if I had to pick, I prefer Romero's Night.

Which "Day"?

Day of the Dead (1985) or Day of the Dead (2008)

Kick-Ass - 8/10 - A fun movie. Funny, violent and well cast. If anything watch it for Hit-Girl and Cage delivering his lines as Big Daddy.
