Maul, did you try the make up sponge that a few are claiming that works? I seem to have drastically slowed down or near enough stopped the left bicep. I gently moved the shoulder armour slightly.
It's like working with a full glass of water. Any least little movement and it's away.

I have mine preordered for june delivery and after reading all the oil issues, i am glad i waited...but some here have posted and asked questions about the oil problem and still went ahead and orderd it anyways. When they recieved it they posted that it indeed have the oil problems...really?...Why not wait for the third batch to see if it is fixed?

The oil on my Bats DX showed up again with a vengeance this morning. Going to pick up a makeup sponge after work tonight. Hope that works as it's such a gorgeous figure in hand.
I've been wondering this all along as well.
I guess I can understand though, because the wait is brutal!

I know. But when I decide I want something I'm impulsive and get it
I ctually bought it from a fellow freak. Oh well, it doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the figure. If the sponge works, I will have no complaints about the figure.

Can anyone please post a pic of the makeup sponge technique? My appologies if something has already been posted. If not at least an image of what a makeup sponge looks like.

i cut the back part out where it was the squarest

then cut the top off so its not so tall
then place the sponge inbetween the shirt and the pants and make sure it lays flat

It looks like a US company which indicates third batch. Also the price looks like third batch. But, it doesn't say pre-order which might indicate 2nd batch.

I am just assuming if this is the 3rd batch, because the estimated arrival date is the end of May 2010.

If thats the case BBTS would have them right now and others wouldn't be shipping May/end of May. Even forbiddenplanet.com has it listed down as May 30.

Well the guy's saying the shop received it's 3rd batch of figures, which could very well be true, doesn't mean it's from HT's 3rd production run though.
This figure has been such a mess who knows, when it's all over they might end up with bunches of production runs trying to clean this mess up. When it was the paint flaking thing getting fixed by the international release, it seemed easy to keep track of, but where they keep having problems with this figure, it's anybody's guess what run your figures are coming from and what problems it might have. The only thing I think is safe to buy into is that the flaking and warping issue has been fixed, though I don't know what happened to Eddie's figure, that's the only report I've seen since the HK wave of those old issues.
Poseability is cool and all, but it's kind of a shame that HT didn't also make some sort of 1/6 statue like they did with the 1/4 busts. I would rather get a 1/6 statue that looks similar to the DX and just sell my DX at this point instead of worrying about disintegration down the road. Kind of sucks how my old Jurassic Park 1 T-rex rubber fig (which is around 17yrs old with no signs of damage) will probably be in better shape than my Batman in another 10yrs+. Nothing much we can do at this point but try the sponge technique and what's done is done.
