I'd rather have seen a Premium Format Joe line, that's what I REALLY want! As for this piece, I really think it should have been Snakes vs Storm Shadow. For the price, they should have stuck with main characters instead of a couple of random red ninjas. I still preordered it, don't know if I'll keep it.

People who are not 100% commited should not bother ordering, all it does is give SS false ideas of the items popularity and will entise them to do more dios.
Then I think everyone and their dog should pre-order this, so we can get Flint/Zartan dio in the pipeline. Once that is released, we can be done with the dios for all I care.

This is pretty badass. I love how the characters are pose. Very dynamic. Great execution. I probably won't be ordering this, it's not that i don't like it, just not high enough of my "wants" list.

i like these angles:

the more i look at it, the more i like it.

I think it looks really great and I am tempted, but I will stick to the figures and environments because else it will be getting too expensive and I have bought way too much stuff lately.

I got the Shrine of Dagon and think it will look cool when I pose Snake Eyes facing Storm Shadow on it.

It's all ready too expensive... :lol, try collecting other lines... :monkey1

So people who buy $130 poseable toys are blue collar, red blooded, factory workin' everymen, while guys who pay $300 for statues are white collar, wine-drinking, fancy-pants, metro-sexual types? That makes a lot of sense.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I totally read his statement thinking the same thing.

Thanks for those pics again, this piece is sick. :rock

The piece really is stunning. I am still passing on it but sideshow isn't making it easy.

I have no interest in this, rather see more 12 inch figures. I hate when SS "milks" lines with other types of formats. I can't see these "Dios" doing well. If Storm Shadow was in the piece it may be worth looking at. Of all the possible arrangement for a GI JOE "vs" piece, this fails. Just seems cheap they couldn't throw in another main character.

In addition, supporting this will, without a doubt, lead to Sideshow's traditional treatment of lines. Bait with 12" and then ditch for polystone.

Nonsense. Beach Head's preview so soon after Flint's (remember when we had to wait about half a year between previews?) shows that even with the dio they're producing more, not less 12 inch figures.

Besides, they've already stated that they put the Indy line on pause to focus more and SW and GI Joe. Sorry Indy fans, but this dio is what we're getting instead of 12 inch Sallah or Mola Ram. :naughty

I think the logic that if the dio does decent that this will lead to bad things for the 1:6th scale line is flawed. Yes, I know how lines like the LOTR worked and all that jazz but as long as people are willing to buy both and stay buying both the way they are things are fine. Lines die more because of folks changes in buying habits than one line being created along side another.

:lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol Name one single line, other than Star Wars, that hasn't gone that route. You can't. FAIL!

Well, let's be fair. You are. :lol

I didn't say it was gonna happen immediately, but that's the standard MO. And as for Indy, you need to go and reread all that jazz. Nowhere, not once, did they guarantee Indy would return to 1:6 action figures. There's a lot of "we're looking into" or "we're thinking this" but in the end, always the same, "was paused while we explore other venues of the license." They even refer people to the dioramas and PFs. Feel free to walk around like Josh with your head in a cloud until it happens, but those of us who've been collecting over the years, will base our opinions on Sideshow's past behaviors. In a court of law, that's more evidence than your "optimism." :lol

Ordered the Ex. last night. Really liking this piece... poses are dynamic and the environment is awesomely detailed. Check out the lines in the sand. Very nice :rock

Hmm... I was on the fence about this, but I decided to go ahead and preorder. Who knows how I'll feel in 3rd quarter 2010, after all!

I suppose I can always cancel.

Still, I have a feeling I'm opening up a big can of worms, going into the whole "statue" thing...

Um.....Marvel It hasn't killed any of their other lines.

I'm not walking around with my head in the clouds. I'm quite well aware of how other lines have come and gone. I've been around for a while myself and probably collecting SS longer than you. The Indy line and LOTR 1:6th slowed due to development being slow not because of the Dio's. I'm sure the dio's are much quicker to produce than a 1:6th especially when it comes to LOTR.

Oh Nam if you where only as smart about me or SS as you thought. :lol
