Lebowski I would buy in a second but I don't know if it's something for Rainman.

Robe, shirt, pants, slippers, bowling ball, white Russian, briefcase, & sunglasses are not that complex or detailed. Gimme something difficult and impressive. I like to see Rainman continue to be challenged as Tyler and the GBU did.

And I guess I look at handcrafted pieces like these more as works of art, akin to statues and paintings than action figures. Sure they're dolls, but I don't have much desire to swap heads or play dress up with extra outfits any more than I have a desire to change around the subjects of a painting.

Please, no joker v1 - BR joker concept or octopus - spirit concept; where in order to have a complete set, you'd have to buy another character.

Not that I won't buy it, as I would. But I just loathe this type of marketing scheme. Its.. Unethical, IMO.

not sure what you're referring to. are you saying rainman should only make 1 figure from each film, or only 1 version of each character?

or you're against an "improved" v2 of the exact same character & costume? I'm against that.

No, I hate the fact that HT makes us buy BR. Joker for the gun, and that the spirit comes with octopus' gun. Just so that the lesser fig would have a more added value.

He was suggesting that norton should come with the bunny slippers.

Ah. Yes, I agree. A figure should come with stuff for that character only.

IMO There is simply no way I can not have a Norton to go with this. Norton is the main character in the movie and for obvious reasons, is the ultimate counterpart to the Tyler Durdan character. You cannot have one without the other, and I do not even mean in a literal sense, but with respect to having a figure of Pitt, you need Norton.

I have the Detective Mills Pitt figure from Se7en and have been trying to put together a Morgan Freeman to go with him ever since because it just is not complete alone. This is how I feel about Tyler Durdan.

Now I can totally understand the comments suggesting his look is simply not as challenging as other things Rainman can attempt and I totally agree but Rainman has offered single heads before, why not for Norton?? We can easily bash together some bloody and wrinkled white collar cubicle worker attire for him.

And I'm glad Gattack talked to someone, about modding the HT head. If that does not go through I will find a way to make this happen. It needs to happen IMO. But obviously I'd like Rainman to offer us one first.

Ah. Yes, I agree. A figure should come with stuff for that character only.

I normally wouldn't condone a company providing accessories that don't belong with a particular character, but since we already know that Rainman is *not* giving us bunny slippers with our Durden, I figured it would make a nice addition to an Ed Norton figure if his accessories were lacking in number anyway. I assume that most everyone who bought a Tyler will want the Narrator too, so it seemed like an easy "fix". Personally, I would rather buy bunny slippers and red glasses separately, and made by Rainman himself.

Any word yet on how Rainman will work the glasses issue out, Zuno?

If rainman decides to make norton, great. If not, I'm fine as well.

But if he were to do a norton, I think the prices will go down from the usual asking price of $650? Seeing that the costume isn't as complex of his previous figures?

Forgot to ask: does anyone have pics of the 1/6 prototypes mentioned above? My online searches aren't turning up anything...

they did have pics up on this page:
https://www.actionfigureinsider.com/toyfair2007/the-dude-abides-new-big-lebowski-figures.php
but all the pic links seem broken.

lol labowski... thats like taking my posts about the mask, borat and pee wee herman seriously.

i don't see why having figures of tyler durden or GBU characters is any more or less valid than lebowski, peewee herman, borat or the mask.

ps. you're in no danger of being taken seriously by me at least

cause comedies don't exactly strike people as an important part of cinema. granted rainman did make chaplin.....but even then the difference there is that the general consensus consider chaplin's stuff art. I love the coen brothers and Lebowski was a great little dark film but I have no intentions of buying a 650 dollar figure from rainman. But I do hope he picks this up sometime this year so I can save some money

p.s. you're one petty guy.

i see things from a postmodern perspective - what someone deems important is important, forget what the "people" think. and i strongly don't agree that comedies aren't important cinematically. some of the greatest moments in cinema are from comedies.

as for the petty thing - perhaps. but i'm someone who can admit that, unlike other members here who refuse to take a long hard look at themselves. it was a natural reaction to your post which i found slightly disrespectful. it felt like you were ridiculing people that had genuine interest in these figures.

I see what you're saying and best wishes to whoever is interested

I find it kind of weird that you say that my posts make you cringe and come off as being disrespectful yet there are members who posts one word ignorance or image macros and you never seem to acknowledge any of that. Perphaps it's some kind of political thing... I don't really know. But in anycase please get over it and if thats not enough I apoligize to you and your band of buddies whom I've offended. Hope you find it in your hearts to stop policing me.

cheers :chew

it's no political thing. and there really is no band of buddies. it's just my reaction to that one post, no intention of policing. but i will freely admit that perhaps if someone else had written that, i may have overlooked it completely. so i will apologise.

xenoviper is already working on that and his WIP looks incredible. the outfit is possibly difficult but could be bashed too. definitely an awesome figure choice though. maybe rainman could do a lefty. personally i haven't seen a lefty pacino sculpt yet.

I agree that xeno's WIP looks good.

But the the thing with rainman is that we dont have to source around for costume etc and commissioning a paint job. Thats what I like bout him, and not to mention that his work is on par, if not better than HT's stuff.

seems like those jacket on depp looks pretty similar to what tyler is wearing.

I badly need a depp and a pacino in my collection :lol

Both cool characters, but much more iconic choices to hope for first.

agreed, but what is there to make out of depp?

sparrow has been taken by kojun, and I doubt that rainman wanna tackle with that, since HT has made 2 and Im guessing another DX of him pretty soon.

almost all version of pacino has been made as well. Michael corleone, carlito, heat, all by kojun.

Lets just hope that rainman could make another exception again and make a similar character that his fellow korean artist has made.
