The Comedian hasn't sold out yet. I wonder if low sales would impact future releases?

Something tells me that this line up is already sealed, what low sales will indicate is a lack luster QC at the factory level in future releases, look at the Spirit line, ScarJo's figure looks thrown together completely with visable seams. I don't think that would have happened if The Spirit were a box office smash.

That's a concerning point. Would hate to see the figures from this franchise get nerfed as bad as the spirit figures. You'd think though that HT might have the beat of the pulse of the watchmen fanbase in check more so than the spirit fanbase just from glancing at this board. Did any Spirit fans even get up in arms about the QC issues for their stuff? Did they even notice? Are there spirit fans?

So true with Hot Toys. It almost seems wiser to pass on a new figure nowadays to just wait for the superior V2 or DX version. But now that we all think like that, we don't order the V1 or not as many order it. And because of that, Hot Toys thinks the character isn't popular and then don't make the planned V2 or DX afterall. But then we think that too, so we order against our gut reaction.

Hot Toys has a psychologist on payroll JUST to anticipate the mind of the collector.

I wouldn't doubt it. We collectors are a crazy bunch.

The vicious cycle of course I'm in the mindset that as strategic as HT is, the have the entire line preplanned to the last. So I guarantee you that all of the Watchmen figures that will be done have already been decided upon. HT doesn't seem driven by sales, their TDK line was flying off of the shelf and they could have bled them dry with yet another Joker, Scarecrow, hell even another Batman if they really wanted to. When they go back to the well its a good time past the original lineup so what we are endangering is a revisit of Watchmen not the initial line....at least from my point of view.

I pre-ordered it however, I am undecided about keeping it. The figure looks awesome but unless other figures (beyond Silk) are released I will probably cancel.
