So many things wrong with this statement first of being if your gonna defend a team know how to spell there name right first. Yankees(your welcome).


The Yanks have spent the most money every season, the only thing about this year was they finally spent the money on good players. The Yankees have been trying to buy championships for years and they will do so for years to come(my Red Sox are guilty of this also though).

Yeah Cliff Lee was scary good in Game 1. I was happy to see that they didnt bring him out game 4 even with only 3 days rest. Do you think that this was a mistake by the Phillies manager to not bring him out game 4? And if Cliff would of come out game 4, would this of been a different series?

I would have played Lee in game 4 for sure. But they don't pay me for my ideas.

I agree, they spend more than everyone, its pretty boring when they win it cause its expected, why do you think there always in the hunt EVERY year. The lack of salary cap makes the MLB so boring imo, thats exactly why the Yankees have more titles than every other team in sports.

Where are the Mets, Dodgers, Cubs??? You have to spend money to make money. Any other team had a shot at these guys, and they didnt want to pay, you cant blame the Yankees for that. Sports franchises that are popular, Cowboys, Lakers Yankees, make a boat load of money

I'm not a fan of the Yankees by any means, but it's just funny that you say that one of the most successful franchises in all of sports history "suck."

I know a lot of people complain about them buying their way to victory, but that's MLB's problem not any individual team's. Wasn't the Phillies payroll larger than the Devil Ray's last year? So could you say the Phillies bought their championship last year?

(Just a few observations from someone who hasn't really watched baseball since the early 90s. I may be wrong, but this was one entertaining postseason and that's all that matters.)

There are a lot of ways to suck, and one does not necessarily disqualify oneself from sucking just by winning the World Series.

Agreed. The Yankees racked up a lot of titles back in the 20's and 60's time in which there wasn't many teams and NY being the big city could buy all the players they wanted.


Today there's more teams(watered down) but NY has such high revenue they can still spend over $200 million in the middle of a recession no less.
