Yep, Rise of the Machines veteran since 03:cool:

But yer im pretty Terminator Knowledgeable:D

No, but Aliens have a natural cloaking ability of sorts. It's more like a chameleon than a real cloak like the predators. AVP-R directors disregard the Aliens ability to take on Genetic traits only. e.g The Predators hair being biologically it's own is still up to debate but the Pred-Alien had dread locks. It's shoulder blades reassemble plasma casters in "un-cocked" position.

Too bad you're not as Alien knowledgable.

Chamleon Alien...lol

As for the dreads showing up on the Predalien, but not human hair on an Alien...who's to say that Pred dreads are the same type of biological material as hair?
Just because WE call them dreads, doesn't mean they're made of the same material as hair. So, it could be logical for them to show up in some form on a Predalien.

I just wanted to jump on the hating the PredAliens dreads bandwagon.

But, since we are arguing the subject, the only reason it has 'dreads' is because ADI and/or the director (I can't remember who's fault it was innitially) wanted to incorporate that feature of the Predators into its design.

So, whether they are hair or not, the dreads were intended to bring a little more Predator into the design, and therefore was a dumbass call. An Alien looks nothing like the animal it came from except for very basic body posture and structure. IMO, the only trait the PredAlien should have had with the Preds is the mandibles on its mouth, and even that's probably really crossing the line. That, and ADI's take on the mandibles was over done.

I'm tired of Aliens as beasts. I want to see more hive minded bugs.

I like the dreads on a Predalien.

I'm tired of Aliens belonging in "hives" and being referred to as "bugs" myself.

Definately not what Giger or Scott had intended for the creature.

Please stick to Terminator. :p
ALIENS don't have chameleon style camouflage.

They simply blend in well with their environment due to their dark colors and biomechanical texture. It breaks up their outline, and so people don't notice them right away.

I agree with you regarding the dreads, but the back-tubes do not look anything like a plasma caster IMO. They're just shaped weird.

I agree, I'm a Terminator guy. I'm pretty good with Alien stuff, just find it hard to describe sometimes. When I say camouflage I mean fundamentally what you said:eek: Without sounding to like I'm plagiarising you :lol I usually don't drop the ball but this time :slap:slap

Sorry guys, I'm now receding into a dark cave to watch all 4 Alien films and AVP Alien scenes in hope of redemption:monkey2

LOL, Alien movie marathon?
*goes into cave with 8 friends, soda, & bucket of popcorn*

Definately not what Giger or Scott had intended for the creature.

Just want to say that this is my opinion as well..

And when it comes to AVP2, PredAlien design was the least thing that bothers me....I quite liked the movie..
But they buchered both franchizes, and even if they made perfect story, movie shot in that way, dark and short cuts with extremely fast action, and changing of the scenes.....it would be crap!

..and I probably likes the movie as I'm not that type of "purist" when it comes to Predators and Aliens......I'm only totally freak about Terminator..

It just bothers me because I'm convinced theres a great story with an AVP film just waiting to be written. But I think sequels are out of the question now, reboot city I'm afraid!! Although, and this is coming from someone who remembers the first predator film being in cinemas and has been a lifelong fan, I have to admit design wise the Wolf is probably my favorite Pred so far... *puts on helmet*

I honestly liked all the pred designs so far. They each represented a different and diverse culture. They're nomadic so one can't expect them all to look alike. A lot of people complained about the heavily armored AVP Preds but I liked it that they wore ceremonial armor for this special occasion. And I liked the Warrior look. But yes. Wolf is totally badass. His Bio is just too awesome.:D

Though the quality of the story telling is not as good in the AVPs, I did learn to accept the Pred designs based on exactly your reasoning. Not all people look the same, so why can't Preds have different races?

Exactly!

I mean seriously...look at the design difference between the first Predator and Predator 2.

Completely different looking.

Good example of variation amongst a race of beings like the Predators is the main protagonists in the Predator films. Arnie and Glover, good example of Stan Winstons "Snake is a Snake" theory.

My two cents:D

Couldn't find a thread to post this, so.....

Considering this one is called "Aliens,Predator and Terminator Q&A (Anything!)" I'd say this is a safe place! I haven't seen that, who makes it?

Haha, that was my conclusion too. ;)

The harvester is made by PLAYMATES.
I think it the only other company (besides Hot Toys) that's making Salvation figures.
Too bad they've canceled the line. I could have used an HK tank.

Its a pretty nice looking fig but I'm limiting myself to the 1/6 for now! The harvester kinda anooys me because I always think of McG saying he wanted to "Outdo Transformers 2" now I always think thats why its in the movie at all. He could have easily outdone Transformers 2 by having decent actors, a script that made sense, a lack of self indulgence, and by not relying on the prequels popularity to make this film good. Seems like a no brainer to me...

Well, I don't think we'll ever see a 1:6th Harvester, so I settled with this one.
I do agree with you regarding the harvester though. It could have easily taken on another/ more menacing form. Instead, it looks like a giant decapitated terminator. All in all, T4 was OK, but IMO no one can do it better than Cameron.

T1 & T2 Future War FTW. :rock

Hey FB...what is that little vehicle you put in there?

And, where did you find it?

It's a Moto-Terminator. Same type as the ones ejected out of the legs in the movie.

It was available at 7eleven as part of the Slurpie Straw set during the movie promotion.
They have all sold out by now and can only be found at places like EBAY.
If you do a search, make sure it's the straw and not the Slurpie cups.
